I have a 2012 Leaf in Portland (no heat pump option). I don't use the heat often, but I do have to de-fog my windows a lot in the winter. That uses the heater and lowers the range a ton. Unless something has changed with the newer models I would get a model with the heat pump if I could.

Ugh, sorry to hear that. Hopefully everyone is okay. If you can get the battery (probably will need help) it's worth a fair bit. The front headlights are pretty expensive if they are still intact.

Couldn't you just edit your vehicle and click 'Decline' to the NissanConnectSM EV Agreement? This gives a message saying: then you won't lose your driving history.

peakay, my wife and I felt the exact same way about the 2015 (we were looking at maybe upgrading our 2012 when it came off lease). The whole car felt cheaper and the ride quality was not as good. We ended up just purchasing our 2012 since Nissan was giving a pretty good discount.

Where do the power taps go in a 2012 model? Has anyone gotten ithis method to work with a 2012 Leaf?

Won't the Leaf re-charge the 12v battery from the main pack if it gets low?

I think mostly I'd want to charge a smart phone over USB, but I might other things that I would want to run that would run off a standard plug (I still have a basic flip phone that I use that charges over a standard plug).

Hmm, there were two issues causing this issues. One was fixed last year and this one with the speed sensor has not be fixed (until this recall). That thread might have been for the first issue then.

Call/email your dealer to see what the buy-out is. My buy-out ended up being $10,300 when my residual was about $16,500. That's a fair bit better than the $5k off I thought I'd get. I ended up buying my 2012.

My biggest issue with the 1st gen PiP (other than terrible EV range) was the engine vibration was awful. Does anyone know if the 2nd gen will improve this?
