Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

I filed my first claim at 62,000 miles over a year ago, Feb 2015, direct with Nissan. I filed my second claim direct with Nissan August 2015. I filed with BBB in October 2015 and won in February 2016. I got my new battery in March 2016. In that year I lost 3 more bars in about 10,000 miles...

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

I also won the BBB arbitration and now have a new battery pack installed. Nice to have all the bars and range back. My arbitrator said that Nissan's quote in paperwork that I signed when purchased and Nissan supplied for the arbitration "expect gradual battery loss" and my quote " I am...

    Another LEAF with range collapse

" Pursue BBB on the grounds the battery is defective with very high capacity loss and Nissan not honoring the 100k/8year warranty. We have one success report so far. I've just started my claim process. Not sure what's next if it leads nowhere, perhaps we can get LA Times interested to publish an...

    Another LEAF with range collapse

I went to dealer, got all paperwork they had on the car, only one at 45,000 that read 5/5 stars. I called 800 number since local dealer would not do anything about starting a claim. I called, they took information again, they said they would look into it, call my dealer and do some research...

    The Battery Replacement Thread

Correct. I lost the 4th bar at approx 62,000 and then quickly after that. At least now I know I am at about half battery so I might risk and try to take to work a few times. Yes Nissan told me that they might be able to do "something " for me and then called me back and gave me ways to...

    The Battery Replacement Thread

ok, finally got LeafSpyPro and ran numbers, but confused as to what I am seeing. Car is at 71,341 miles, when starting car have 4 white and 2 red bars. LEAFSTAT Info GIDS 138 kWh 10.7 SOC 90.3 SOH 52% HX 30.84 Ahr 34.13 Temp 79.9 when starting after a full level 2 charge, says 38.3 miles (4.0)...

    The Battery Replacement Thread

thank you for your advice, I think i will get the Leaf Spy and see where I am really at. Car MFG 11/10 on the door jamb. I have 70,064 as of tonight with 4 white and 2 red bars left. 6 bar loss, Feb 2015 69,000 miles? 5 bar loss, June 2014 65,000 miles? 4 bar loss, August 2013 62,000 miles...

    The Battery Replacement Thread

Sorry. I purchased on Jan 5, 2011. #195 on VIN but dealer thought we were #11 delivered. Purchased new I do not have LeafSpy. I should invest? Yes, 6 bar remaining.

    The Battery Replacement Thread

Has anyone on this thread actually paid for a new battery? I lost bar 4 at 62,000 miles and Nissan basically said tough luck. I have only 4 white and 2 red left now at 74,000 miles. I was leaf #11 according to my dealer, and the car only gets about 30 miles of actual range now. Can't even drive...

    Another LEAF with range collapse

I have been frustrated with Nissan also. My 2011 can make it to work (34 miles slight downhill grade) but after charging to 100% at work I make it home in last red bar. I drive 32 of the 34 on freeway and that is driving right lane, drafting and driving 55 to 65. I can no longer take the carpool...

    EV Reserved Parking Spots violators

As of January 1, 2012: Electric Vehicles (EV) must now be plugged in for refueling when occupying an EV-designated parking space, otherwise they may be towed. In addition, the law prohibits a person from obstructing, blocking, or otherwise barring access to an EV-designated parking space. (AB...

    20,000 miles

I charge 80% at home (L2)(solar) and then all day at work (L1) which gets me just up to 100%. I charge to 100% at work because I let the business pay for it and then when I get home very little charge needed to get back up to 80%. I love my Leaf!

    20,000 miles

I charge to 80% at home at night with L2. I drive 35 miles to work and then charge there on L1 for the time I am at work,(usually 9 hours). When I leave at night to drive home, I am usually at 100% or just near that. I also had maintenance and battery check at 15,000 miles. No issues. Few tire...

    20,000 miles

Maintenance of the Leaf or other EVs

I thought that sounded odd. I also thought 15,000 was quick for change, but since it is new technology, and a new car, It could not hurt to change the fluid out. I will have my tire guy do it next time if it is basic fluid. Hum??

Maintenance of the Leaf or other EVs

I just had my 15,000 mile maintenance done at 16,850. Per Nissan email to remind me, it included A comprehensive complimentary EV Battery Usage Report - Replace brake fluid - Replace in-cabin microfilter - Rotate tires Valencia Nissan had not had a car in for service yet other than tire...

    Just Passed 15,000 Miles

I know it said 12 months in the owners manual but maybe because I am above average on mileage they want to see what the status of the battery is. The email came from Nissan USA, not the dealer. It also quoted my mileage in the email, based off of CarWings I assume, they were within a few hundred...

    Just Passed 15,000 Miles

Just hit the 15,000 mark on Monday! Took delivery on January 5th. Eight great carefree months of driving. Only maintenance so far has been 2 tire rotations. I did get a email from Nissan at 14,000 telling me to take the car in at 15,000 miles So I will make an appointment soon and see what they...
