    Newbie question: ChargePoint stations 6.6kW, or 3.3.kW?

    North American residential "single-phase" service is 240V. North American commercial "three-phase" service is 208V. ChargePoint's installation document requires a 40A breaker, which it defends against tripping by delivering power corresponding to around 30A. That means it can deliver at most...

    Adapters for Ingineer's L1 to L2 EVSE - NO LONGER AVAILABLE

    I'm preparing to order a Rev2 upgraded EVSE, and an L6-20 extension cord and adapter from L6-20 to my (rental house) garage wiring. My nearby source of 240V power is a NEMA 10-30 outlet that's currently in use by a laundry dryer. I really can't ask all the household dryer users to switch plugs...

    Next San Diego EVent: Sat, Aug 9, 2014, CANCELLED

    It's free now, but it's also brand new, and the provisioning is still being adjusted. It could be set to bill for time charging, or per kWh dispensed (max 25 kW rate), so you don't have to do the value math during the ramp-down. Like every other ChargePoint station you can always see its...

    San Diego - Current List of Public Charging Stations

    Another approach would be to bill per kWh dispensed (max 25 kW rate), which is simpler than putting the driver through the mental gymnastics of value during the ramp-down. It's free now, but it's also brand new, and the provisioning is still being adjusted. Like every other ChargePoint station...

    ChargePoint L1 GFI messages -

    It's a common problem with Leaf and Volt L1 adapter travel cords. Short answer: Use L2 instead. More info at https://coulombtech.zendesk.com/entries/21775522-nissan-leaf-level-1-travel-cord" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

    ChargePoint L1 GFI messages -

    That's because your L1 adapter has a leak, which is a potential safety problem. Electrical wiring codes and UL specs require the EVSE to stop the flow of energy, just like your kitchen outlet shuts off when your toaster falls into the sink full of conductive soapy water. See...

    Bay Area Walgreens / 350Green no longer free (ChargePoint)

    You're all doing the charging rate kW math using 240V. That's correct for home EVSEs with residential "single-phase" power, but commercial 3-phase AC is 208V across the legs. You should expect lower peak kW charging rates (about 85%) to be available on a particular size breaker (e.g. 40A) in a...

    New Chargepoint in LA/OC - San Gabriel, El Monte ?

    If you're logged into the website with your driver account, you'll see only those stations that are accessible to you. If you visit the website to see the map and don't login, there's no way to tell who you are or what stations your account is allowed to use, so you see them all.
