A thread for people happy with their Leaf

So far so good with my 2021 Leaf SV, loving it so far. It was an impulse buy, but it has turned out great. It replaced my commuter car, a 2104 Kia Rio. Since the Kia Rio is very basic transportation the Leaf is an improvement in every aspect. I feel like I went from the outhouse to the...

    Turn Off Sounds

You can see the speakers right up front. Towards the bottom of the car, right through the lower vent holes on the front bumper trim. If your hands are small enough you can even get your hands through the holes to undo the connectors. If not, it looks like there is a lot of work to do to remove...

Welcome to the forum. Looks of good information here. I think the part that you think is a radiator is an AC condenser.

55% battery drain in 10 miles, 2022 Leaf?

This is just a shot in the dark, but testing the main 12V battery may be worthwhile. From what I know a lot of the electronics run off the 12V battery, so a bad battery could be causing the electronics to not function correctly.

    My first.....

Those rebates really help. I bought my 2021 several months ago and I am really enjoying it. Lots of good information on this forum to help you get the most of your Leaf.

    2018 Leaf charger malfunction

If you look in the owners manual it will tell you how to determine what is wrong by how the LEDs are acting. I was getting a plug temperature sensor fault with my OE charging cable. It would charge at half the current. Could not find anything online about how to repair it, so I just bought a new...

55% battery drain in 10 miles, 2022 Leaf?

Did they look at the video you have? I would think that video would help get some action out of the dealer.

    $12k to replace 24kwh battery?

The dealer will be the most expensive option by far. If you could find a rebuilder that would be the way to go, but it doesn't seem like there are a lot of them around.

Any reason not to buy 20/21 62kwh Leaf (UK)

You will need an OBDII dongle, along with the Leaf Spy. Then you can quickly check any Leafs you find. Searching the forum will give you an idea of what is considered good. My car that I bought a few months ago, a 2021 with 18k miles, has a SOH of 92%, a HX of 78%, and about 80 quick charges...

Any reason not to buy 20/21 62kwh Leaf (UK)

First off, you need to determine how you will charge the car. Being able to charge at home is really the only way to go. Seems to problematic and expensive, to me, to go any other way. Of course, there are some who don't have home charging and they do fine. The other thing is to get Leaf Spy...

Leaf 30kwh 2017, any opinion on those graphs?

So Lucky, how much did it cost you to get the battery in your 2016 back to good condition?

Leaf 30kwh 2017, any opinion on those graphs?

A lot of useful information here. What I am getting from this thread is that Hx is very important if you live in an area that has a lot hills. Seems like Hx is almost a measure of how much hard work the battery can do. A slightly poor Hx number is probably not so much of an issue if you are in...

Leaf Spy Pro for 2021 Leaf

Just wondering if anyone using the Leaf Spy Pro had been able to turn off the various driving sounds the car makes on the 2021 Leaf. Doesn't seem possible but hoping someone has been able to do it.

Why Have 2022 Used LEAFs Dropped by $10k in Price in the Past One Year?

Picked up my 2021 with the SV technology and cold weather packages and 18k miles for $16,500 out the door. If it fits your needs it can be a very cost effective transportation.

Seat belt chime goes off randomly...

Just wanted to update what the issue was. The seat belt system is very sensitive in these cars. I was simply holding onto the passenger headrest on turns and that little extra bit of pressure on the passenger seat is what was causing the seat belt chime to go off.

New leaf 2021 owner (charger type, charging, mobile app)

What does the plug look like? Is it a standard household plug, which is a Nema 5-15? You probably have the slightly faster 120VAC charging cable. I have two charging cables. The OE Nissan Leaf cable, which fills the battery at 3.3% an hour, and another cable which fills the battery at 4.6% an...

Seat belt chime goes off randomly...

I should have done this first, looking over the owners manual gives several situations that could cause the chime to go off.

Seat belt chime goes off randomly...

My seat belt chime goes off randomly after making right hand turns. Right turns when I am moving, not after stopping and then accelerating and making a right hand turn. It beeps for a set amount of time, around 25 seconds. Then it goes off. Unbuckling my seat belt and attaching it has no effect...

New 2021 Leaf owner saying hi.

Thanks for the replies. Bought it as my commuter car. Generally my commute is around 25 miles round trip. Sometimes as much as 50 miles. Level 1 charging will be more than enough for me. Have a second car for longer trips. Mostly bought the car hoping for savings on gas, not so much on...

New 2021 Leaf owner saying hi.

Just picked up a 2021 Leaf SV, with the SV Technology and Cold Weather packages. The car has 18k miles. In great condition. $16.5k out the door. Dealer seemed desperate to sell. They had it around for a couple months. It was a bit of an impulse buy, since I don't really know much about the...
