Yes I have seen those fading tax credits. 25% of $7500 is just chump change for $40K+ car. Even 50% credit is not much of an incentive.

With the news that current Tesla owner's and employees getting the first dibs, everyone else is looking at least 2-yrs wait(without production delays) and no Federal Tax credit. I doubt if I would go thru the trouble of standing in the line outside the store. I think I'll just place the order...

Opened the front panel on the EVSE. Does not seem too complicated to change out the charge cable. I hope the new cable arrives by Wednesday as I am off from work that (Veteran's day).

Unfortunately my LEAF is a lease, not sure the dealer would appreciate me messing with the original charger when I turn the car back in next year.

My 112v does not come with EV rates, don't want to end up in tier-3 of standard DR rates. But I might still charge the car over the weekend and dive to work on Monday :)

I was looking at the same Clipper Creek unit this morning, mainly because I won't have to re-wire my NEMA 6-50R receptacle. I appreciate the you documenting the install in your blog. It will come in handy if (most likely) I decide to swap out the unit.
