It is almost undoubtedly a bad 12 V battery. The LEAF never charges it fully so it dies young. I charge mine with a trickle charger once a week to extend its life. When the 12 V battery is bad, all sorts of weird trouble codes show up. There are many posts on this forum about theses problems.

My 2011 LEAF lost its fourth capacity bar last week at 42,000 miles. My Nissan dealer gave a quote of $8900 to replace it. We will just live with it as we don’t drive it very far anymore.

We are spoiled and sometimes use the GPS to go somewhere new instead of using a map. Nothing else was wrong besides the dead GPS.

Sounds like it heats the air directly instead of heating water which then uses a heat exchanger to heat the air as is presently done In the LEAF. I Think this will make the heat start more quickly and should slightly mcrease efficiency. After all, in the LEAF, the water reservoir isn't insulated.

The car is not allowed to move when it is plugged in. Perhaps you should make your circuit simulate the signal that makes the car think it is plugged in. That may be easier to figure out than the gear.

My center console had a GPS problem. The dealer sent it in to be repaired. Cost was $150 to the dealer and $580 to the repair place. This might work for you even though you problem is different.

I took it to the dealer. They confirmed the antenna was OK by plugging in a different center console and having the GPS work. A new console would have been $4000. They were able to send mine in to the manufacturer for repair at a cost of $550 plus another $150 for the labor at the dealer...

This is a question for people who have owned both a LEAF and a Tesla model S. Is there anything other than price that is better for the LEAF than the Tesla? Another way to phrase the question: is there anything a person upgrading from a LEAF to a Tesla might miss?

The "LEAF link" app is free and can send addresses to the car. I've used it for years.

I've had my car for 41 months and 32,000 miles. I'm at 77% capacity according to LEAF Spy and have last 2 capacity bars. I'll probably miss the warrantee by a few months. Love the car, but would be nice to have better warrantee coverage.
