    Gen 1 GM Volt Plug-In Hybrid (2011-2015)

Also thinking about becoming a Leaf+Volt family. Local dealer is advertising $6000+ discounts on their inventory of Volts. Before we got the Leaf I didn't think a 35 mile range would be that practical for us. Now we know it would work fine.

    Level 3 maps inaccurate (Illinois)

350green posted this response to the possible investigation: https://350green.com/2012/06/statement-chicago-electric-car-charging-project/. They claim to have installed 26 (3 of which I know don't function) QC boxes (out of 73 they were contracted to provide). They have taken $1.7 million of the...

    Level 3 maps inaccurate (Illinois)

Thanks for the link! I had seen this http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-biz-0720-public-charging-stations,0,5030561.story which sounded like the charging stations were over $100k a piece to install. At $7 a charge, the economics don't make a lot of sense.

    Level 3 maps inaccurate (Illinois)

Attempted to try out the two QCs in Palatine and found them both to be non-functional as well. I'm 0 for 3 on QCs as well now. Tried this on Saturday so at least 350Green customer service was in. He was very apologetic and will have his boss contact me on Monday to update me on what is...

    Coulomb or ev upgrade

I had an an electrician put a 220v outlet in the garage ($250). I bought an "extra" EVSEupgrade charger and use that as my primary charger and keep the original charger in the car. Now, if I want to push the envelope, I could take along the EVSEupgrade charger and a couple of adapters and use RV...

    Level 3 maps inaccurate (Illinois)

My Leaf is White so it wasn't me. Haven't seen any other Leafs in the wild here (only in Calif). I have seen a number of Volts. There was a red one parked in the other level 2 charger at WF when I was there. When I tried to used the Level 3, it said "Card not authorized". I pushed all the...

    Level 3 maps inaccurate (Illinois)

Yeah tried the WF Level 3 today with no joy. Would be nice if they posted something that it didn't work. Went there just to try out a Level 3. Used a level 2 there and had a slight glitch. Started charging, went off to shop, got a message in about 15 minutes that said my car was drawing little...

As of 2017, 17,700 CHAdeMO chargers, 775,000 CHAdeMO compatible cars worldwide

5 in the Chicago area (there might be more since the most of the tollway oasises were supposed to get them).

Etiquette when using public charging stations.

Will this (and the EV1 Etiquette) work with Chargepoint chargers? Says the same card that started the charge has to stop the charge.

Whole Foods charging equipment location mistake?

Just stopped by the Whole Foods of the OP, and the 2 Charge point Lvl 2 chargers say they charge $2 per charge as of June 1.

Got my 2012 Glacier Pearl Leaf on 5/12/12. Bought it off the lot just like a "normal" car. They had 5 in stock. Bob

Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt get top safety ratings: Chicago Trib

To an engineer (and for crash tests purposes) these are completely different cars. The Leaf is styled after the Versa. Kinda of like a drag racing "Funny Car" looks like a street production car. Any time a car weighs 1000 lbs more than another (which the Leaf does vs a Versa) and has completely...

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

Your points are well taken. This wasn't a car you just walked in off the street and picked up. You ordered and waited months for it. There shouldn't be any last minute "surprises". The auto industry seems to thrive on information hiding. Modern autos have a myriad of information stored in them...

Nissan: restart problems reported in Leaf electric cars

In reading about the restart problem, there seems to me to be a nagging engineering issue. It seems that the software of the Leaf decided, based on some of its sensor inputs, to not allow the car to be started. I'm thinking that the list of items that should prevent starting of the car should be...

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

As far as dealers requiring a credit app even when paying cash, I don't have a problem with this. They are merely protecting themselves in case your check is bad or the cashier's check you gave them was couterfeit or altered. If you have good credit, they have a much greater chance that your...
