Why would anyone buy a nissan leaf right now???

I wonder if used LEAF sales are increasing as a result of the used EV tax credit? The sale has to be through a dealer and you get a 30% tax credit up to $4,000.

    Clunk when accellerating after braking

It was very common when the first gen 1’s were new that you’d hear a pop sound from the front when you accelerated. My drivers side axel was replaced under warranty for the issue. Then issue returned six month later. It became fainter over time however. Its been gone for years now. Clearly a...

    Thanks, that looks really nice.

    12v battery replacement recommendations?

I like this idea a lot. I found we have a Batteries+ store nearby. I never thought to look their. Was the battery you bought manufactured relatively recently? Also, do you happen to have the URL for the hold down you bought on Amazon? Thanks.

INCORRECT: Right type of battery for my LEAF

I purchased an Exide Edge 51R AGM on sale for $140 from AMZN a few years back. I watched this battery begin its journey in New Jersey, through the mid West, and eventually to Gardena outside of LA. The battery moves around LA for a few days and then starts heading back to New Jersey. So I call...

Mods for the Blink EVSE ! (was Fix)

I did the lobotomy on mine over a decade ago and never once had that issue. Worse case if it did start happening to you it's easy to reconnect the Linux processor.

100 thousand miles and still going strong.

Congrats on hitting 100K! Four bars on your temp meter in April probably helps with you still having 11 bars. Ours is a 2011 and we're now at 7 bars on the battery. I don't recall ever seeing 4 temp bars. We also had an issue with the front end. They replaced an axle under warranty - it's had...

    COVID-19 aka 2019 (and 2020) Novel Coronavirus

In the 21st century the US has adopted a policy of "privatize the profits and socialize the losses". Kind of the worst form of socialism there is in my opinion.

Polishing up my faded plastic trim in front of the windshield

I also polished that plastic trim on LEAF when it was new. I used Liquid Glass polish I bought off of AMZN. I put on 10 or 12 coats over a couple of days. Its held up and still looks really good - no fading or cracking.

    Potential 2015 Leaf Purchase Quandry

In nearly 9 years we've only used QC a couple of dozen times and most of that was for the novelty of it. Personally I wouldn't consider using my LEAF to power my home except in an emergency situation. You only get so many cycles on a Li battery pack and I'd rather save those cycles for...

    SDG&E EV Climate Credit

I just noticed that the SDG&E EVCC for 2019 is $850. This is the last year for the program however.

    SDG&E EV Climate Credit

I noticed yesterday that my SDG&E account had a $1,000 credit. I called customer service and they informed me that the 2018 EV Climate Credit was $500 per vehicle. I had submitted for our LEAF and Volt in March. I suspect the program generated a lot more money to go around this year. But it...

    SDG&E EV Climate Credit

I haven't found any updates regarding the 2018 SDG&E EV Climate Credit. I suspect it will be far more popular this year because the word is getting around about the program.

    AmazingE ESVE?

I see that on occasion as well. I figured either the pricing algorithm went berserk or the company really didn't have the product on hand at the moment so they priced themselves out of the market. The only other thing I've come up with is it might be a money laundering scheme. Probably easier to...

    AmazingE ESVE?

Interestingly Clipper Creek owns the Trade Mark "AmazingE". So AmazingE and Clipper Creek are in fact one in the same. http://tsdr.uspto.gov/documentviewer?caseId=sn87172189&docId=RFA20160919080527#docIndex=13&page=1 By the way, Clipper Creek did screw up and didn't file a statement of use to...

Can these mock meat entrepreneurs fool you with a plant-based burger?

Next time ask them to hold the mushrooms and mescaline.

Can these mock meat entrepreneurs fool you with a plant-based burger?

Some believe that crickets will become our primary source of protein in the future. All the sudden plant-based burgers don't sound too bad do they! https://futurism.com/future-crickets-primary-source-protein/

Update on Nissan LEAF Battery Replacement

When I was reading his claim in this thread I was thinking WTF, I've read this before a few months ago. Then I remembered it was on the Volt message board. A poster claimed his dealer installed a Gen2 battery in their Gen1 Volt. As in the case here, this is not possible. The thread then...

    GM Plans 20 All-Electric Models by 2023
