    The Battery Replacement Thread

Lost my 4th CB at 55,800 miles, AHr: 42.36 / H: 43.38, 183 GIDs 100% Charge. Brought car in on Monday 7/13/15 and was told wait time around 4-6 weeks for the new battery to arrive. Two day later on Wed 7/15/15 got a call from dealer said battery is here, brought the car in, got a loaner and...

Lost my 4th CB at 55,800 miles, AHr: 42.36 / H: 43.38, 183 GIDs 100% Charge. Will try to wait for summer to be over before replacing battery.

    4th Bar Lost, Warranty Denied!

Any progress with your case? I lost my third bar for awhile now and maybe in the same as your situation when I loose my fourth bar sometime next year.

I am done with Nissan (Vent Thread)

Nissan said "below 9 bars or about 70% capacity left" to have the warranty kicks in. My interpretation is that you don't have to have 4 bars gone before it kicks in, as soon as you loose 3 CB and few miles later you are below 9 bars and with LEAF Spy if it's showing below 70% capacity left...

Ex Leaf-owner club (Why we gave up on Nissan Leaf)

I'm driving my wife's ICE car now, my LEAF with 2CB lost could not support my 60 miles commute anymore.

My Leaf roll back and almost kill a kid!

You're right. I brought my LEAF to the dealer and was diagnosed with the 12 volts battery, they charged me $127.99 total (my car is over 36000 mile) to replace the battery.

My Leaf roll back and almost kill a kid!

When the car is on, the voltage measured at 14.54V. When it's off, the voltage measured at 10.43V

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

May I ask what dealer you have your battery replaced at? I'm a 2 CB loser and hopefully make it before 60000 miles. What's your GIDs reading at full charge?

The Market will Respond to After-Market Battery Demand

Me too, now I'm driving my wife ICE car 100% for commuting, very disappointed.

    Battery Replacement Program Details

It's me, I have to use my wife's ICE car for commuting now. My LEAF with 2 CB lost leaves very little margin for my 60 miles commute.

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Thanks, unfortunately I bought the car thinking with 100 mile range after 10 years with 70% left I can still make my commute 60 miles round trip ( I usually keep my car 8 plus year), now with my 2 1/2 years LEAF I can barely make it, and to the point that I have to use my wife ICE car and give...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

My LEAF BATTERY app shown AHr=51.78(78.16%) but I haven't lost the 2nd CB yet. My calculation 2nd CB should disappear at AHr=52.5, anyone know the AHr that actually lose the 2nd CB?

    Post Your Battery Degradation Results

I think you will loose the 2nd bar any day now. 52.55x360/24000=78.75% which is right at the threshold of 15%+6.25%=21.25%.

Update on Battery Warranty Enhancement for 2011 & 2012 LEAF

I'm in the exact situation, I can barely make my daily 60 miles round trip. My expectation when I bought the car, based on Nissan info., it's still useful for me even after ten years - 100 miles range when new, 30% battery capacity degraded after 10 years so I still should have 70 miles range...

Had the P3227 reprogram done today: interesting results.

Before software update: Ah 53.68 Cap 81.02% After the software update Ah 58.08 Cap 87.66% I'm surprise that I did not get the 12th CB back. Does that means my real capacity lost is greater than 15%?

Moving 2011 Leaf to cold weather climate -- add package?

"Cold temperature increases the internal resistance and diminishes the capacity. Batteries that would provide 100 percent capacity at 27°C (80°F) will typically deliver only 50 percent at –18°C (0°F). The capacity decrease is linear with temperature." Quote from Battery University.
