    Throwing codes!

Fair enough, no harm done. So... is that the recall you mentioned?

    Throwing codes!

Was that backhanded? You mentioned a recall and didn't give an identifier. I understand what P3259 did, and I did search on it, but I do not know if it is the same recall you were mentioning earlier.

    Throwing codes!

Does this mean that they did the proper programming without knowing it, or something else? Can you give some more details on this recall so I can use it next time I speak with the dealer? There is another Nissan dealer within striking distance, but quite a bit farther away than this one. It...

    Throwing codes!

I checked the invoice, they have "Drecall factory campaign P3259" - is that the reprogram you're speaking of? They didn't explain it at all like you're saying. They said it was an issue with one particular brand of charger and that recall was to help that issue.

    Throwing codes!

After four "EV system warning" lights, finally saw the dealer. P316c P3170 P3171 b29c1 The dealer was not very helpful, other than reading the codes. I understand there was some information about a specific type of charger bandied about and that's about all. They also ordered a leaking high...

Safety - kids and front airbags

I have four kids, so the unusual situation would be if the other three were in the back, so we're covered legally. Anyway, I want to understand. There is a light which illuminates when the seat belt clicks and the weight is not present? So, if I put him in the car with seat, click the...

Safety - kids and front airbags

Disclaimer: I know the safest place is in the back, I would only have my kids in the back unless in a very unusual circumstance, blah blah blah OK, only a technical response. Lets say I took my 45 lb kid and put him in his booster in the front seat. How to the airbag sensors deal with that...

South Carolina specific tax break question

I got on the phone for several excruciating hours Wednesday. It sounds as if these days I do not. Only some plug in hybrids get it, no EVs, weird. Oh well

New guy here with some basic charging questions

Thanks guys, I appreciate all of the help. It sounds like I may be able to get away with 120v, but I have several options for 240v if needbe. Now I have a budget that I can put in the calculations. I am trying to figure out if I can make the Leaf "worth it" on a monthly basis.

South Carolina specific tax break question

Folks, I understand there to be confusion here. The federal tax on a lease is taken by Nissan and then given back over the course of the lease, causing low lease payments. Got it. The state laws in SC have changed recently. Very. It used to be only on a sale and a certain percentage of the...

New guy here with some basic charging questions

Whoa hang on - don't you need to bring the cord back to Nissan when you return the car? In that case, they would not take the modified unit, correct?

New guy here with some basic charging questions

For a lease I'll have to give it back, so wall mounted is probably the only way to go. I have to see if I can get a tax break on anything as well.

New guy here with some basic charging questions

OK, what's are the cheapest EVSE s for something that can plug into a 240v socket? Not concerned about anything fancy like networking or remote monitoring (no smart phone) - just plug it in.

New guy here with some basic charging questions

Ahh, OK, so if I choose to use 120v, I don't need to buy anything, I literally just plug it into the wall. OK, this is starting to gel. So the additional purchases are only required for any 240v charging. I am sure I will need it, it's just surprising that it isn't cheaper to do it, it seems...

New guy here with some basic charging questions

Thanks for the quick reply. It seems that L2 charging will be sufficient, even with the 'slow' charger on the S This is the confusing part. What does this mean? I guess it has no bearing on what exists now, but why is anything required to be installed in the garage? It seems like Nissan...

New guy here with some basic charging questions

Hello folks. I am writing from the perspective who understands a lot of the technical aspects (I'm an engineer) but next to nothing with regard to the leaf in particular. I'm interested in leasing a 2013 Leaf, but only if it's super cheap, so we're talking S basic model. I understand the S...
