    SDG&E EV study rate increase

I got the same letter. As I understand it their commitment to keep our rates is now being honored, in a backwards way, with a credit. Looks like the radio interview worked. They also followed up with the reporter I talked to. So, a win for us all. Just happy that we get the rates through...

    SDG&E EV study rate increase

I am looking into adding more solar to cover the car. But, are you saying that the proposal is minimum of $70 per MONTH per household? That could kill my plans. It sucks how it is such a moving target... Thanks for the help.

    SDG&E EV study rate increase

So our local public radio / TV station picked up the story. Check it out here: http://www.kpbs.org/news/2014/jun/19/sdge-broke-promise-reduced-rates-some-electric-veh/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Now SDG&E says the letter in August saying we could keep our rates was a...

    SDG&E EV study rate increase

Here were/are the rates... It's not that the rates are super bad, it's more the deception and we can do whatever we want, we have a monopoly that bothers me. I wouldn't commit to my clients something in a letter and then change it and just say tough, nothing you can do. Oh yeah, I don't have...

    SDG&E EV study rate increase

Heard back from SDG&E and also got a full month bill. Not as bad as I had expected but still totally unfair and unethical to jack the rates up after they committed to keeping them the same. SDG&E said there is nothing they could do. SDG&E said it was a case of one department not knowing what...

    SDG&E EV study rate increase

No changes is how I understood it also. Yes it was my May bill that I go a few days ago when the rates changed from Winter to Summer. The percentage change may depend on which study rate plan you are on X, Y or Z. I believe the rates changed effective May 1. Since I only had a few days in...

    SDG&E EV study rate increase

I called and talked to Randy Williams at SDG&E. His direct number is (858) 636-1943. Anyway, according to him they can change the rates and have no duty to tell us or anything. This is contrary to the letters and other documents they supplied us with for being in the study. He says, "As long...

    SDG&E EV study rate increase

Has anyone seen their latest SDG&E EV rates for those of us that were in the EV study? All my TOU rates tripled to quadrupled overnight. They have been relatively constant for 3 years and then they pull this. The normal rates didn't do that. I called and they said that they get approval from...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Facts on my Leaf. I had it just less than two years and put about 28k miles on it. In the end I was lucky to get 55 miles on a charge with mixed town freeway driving, about equal. Freeway driving was scary. To get that I was driving well under the speed limit, white knuckled. I was down two...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

So Nissan bought back my Leaf on Friday and I have been looking at the RAV4s. I'd like to get some kind of dealer discount. Can anyone tell me who in San Diego is discounting? I'd like to lock it in while Toyota is offering the $10k off deal. Thanks for any help! Dave

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Good to know about the deals. I called around and can get the deal without the discount of $4k. Well, at least initially. I'll push and see what I can get. Thanks for the info!

Yes to buyback and yes if I could get a deal on a rav4 ev. Still like the idea of ev, just not air cooled Nissan technology.

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

It gets really hot 2-3 weeks out of the year. After the first bar loss we left the car parked in the cool garage on really hot days. Luckily the leaf is an extra shared car in our family. Now it just a glorified golf cart since I can't make to and from any of my clients without range anxiety.

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

I have a hard time going 60 miles now. That going the speed limit or below (can be scary) and no ac or heat. Not very useful anymore. I now need an exit.

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Well, lost my second capacity bar yesterday. Just 6 1/2 months after the first. So, here we are 21 months out with 27k miles in moderate weather San Diego. I was going to update the Wiki database but someone did it for me last time and not sure how to do it...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Here's the latest. My wife had to stop by the Nissan dealer for a charge last week because of the dropping range (continues to drop significantly). She estimated poorly... Anyway, while she was there she asked someone at the dealer (Mossy Nissan) about the capacity loss. He asked her some...

Yeah, wrote too fast, should have said 4/2011. But that was wrong. I looked on the plate and it is 3/2011. Dave

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

We typically use up most of the mileage on the car. I usually end the day with under 10 miles left. Actually, usually under 5 miles. If I still have more than low battery 8 miles than I am not talking about that since it is too much to guess. If I go 55 - 60 miles with A/C on and 50% freeway...
