    Lizard Pack Holding Up

I don't recall a summer that hasn't had days in the 90's. Maine is a big state, Presque Isle still has 4' of snow on the ground, Kittery has daffodils up. But don't tell anyone it, isn't tourist season and the restaurants aren't open yet. ;) If it is true that heat is the only reason batteries...

    Lizard Pack Holding Up

As I read the quote it says - the packs being offer for sale as replacements are the same as the packs in the 2015 Leafs. Didn't say there aren't 2014's with the pack. But once again, I am only exploring why my higher mileage car is doing well. The best answer to fit so far is "more frequent...

    Lizard Pack Holding Up

Thanks for your thoughts on this. I didn't see anything on the first or last page of the topic you referred to which seemed to fit with my question though. Is there a specific quote you could point me to? I wasn't doing much wishful thinking, just trying to determine why my battery is doing so...

    B mode brake lights

Maybe something like this would be easier to integrate. http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/adafruit-industries-llc/1018/1528-1011-ND/4990760 Similar chips are in many phones.

Does anyone have experience with a round trip >200 miles

A couple more notes. 1. I always use LeafSpy to judge my range. The GOM seems to more inaccurate after multiple QCs. 2. During the summer (75-85F), a discharge/quickcharge cycle raises the battery temp gauge 1 bar. I've never had to stop just to let the battery cool. But often have reached...

    Heat pump vs resistive heater

Using the heat when plugged into a QC (with the car turned on) does run the heat pump. I'll have to investigate the QC/preheat scenario next time I'm on a trip.

    Heat pump vs resistive heater

In my 2014 SV I I assumed the heat pump was used to preheated the car as it is when precooling. Just checked the 6.6kW ESVE draw after turning preheat on though. Initially was 2400-2500 watts then jumped to ~2800W I don't hear the pump running. It is 6F here this morning. I'll check it again...

Does anyone have experience with a round trip >200 miles

I concur with the good advice given by others. I have taken several dozen long trips in my 2014 Leaf. Maine-Mass and Maine to NJ mostly. But also twice to a campground in Baxter State Park where no power is available. It can be done. Taking a walk, getting something eat, reading, napping...

    Brake Warning Light

Last brake warning light I had (not in a Leaf) was tripped by a pressure differential between the 2 brake line circuits. Each circuit was for one front and one rear wheel. There was a piston in the master cylinder which shifted to the low pressure side and triggered the light. Do you have...

Either the BEST or the WORST car ever made

I'm in the "use the car" camp. I have never babied this or any other car. And, except in the case of totaling a Corolla once, :( , I keep them until 200K+miles. Never traded in a car! Don't let it run your life Just because it is an EV. I still have 12 bars at 52,000. I always charge to...

First things I should do after buying a used Leaf

Went out and checked my 2014 for this problem. It has the covers with vent holes but there were no signs of rust under it. Still I'll spray the area with lithium lube to be safe.

Airbag warning, then dead 12v then EV system warning

Sorry Leftie for the delayed reply. I only get notified of a post when I'm quoted. And just check the Active topic list when I have extra time. So here are some numbers... plugged in at 11:15pm last night, finished charging at 2:15am, 14 hours later the battery was at 12.28V. For comparison I...

    Lizard Pack Holding Up

Based on your statement, I wonder if I have a lizard even with a 1/14 build date. LeafSpy indicated a SOC of 103% and GIDs of 292 several months and a couple thousand miles after purchase.

    2014 build dates?

If you plan to keep the car in Beverly then I wouldn't worry about a lizard battery. My 2014 was built 1/14 and while it doesn't have the lizard battery we don't really have many lizards in Maine. ;) If you look at my battery specs in the signature you can see I have very little degradation...

No heat in cold weather 2013 SV

I have a 2104 so I don't want to give you info from that manual. I do know that the "HEATER - 2013 NISSAN LEAF (B714300Q0D)" is listed as "DISCONTINUED PART" on some sites and $1240.15 on others. I find the shop manual to be the best source of info is even if it is an investment in $ and time...
