Charging on generator stops after a minute

The resistor is definitely needed, as this generator does not strap neutral and ground together. There is no ground reference. It is an isolated generator.

Charging on generator stops after a minute

Hi all I originally followed Ingineer's suggests on http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=5792&start=90" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to charge my 2012 LEAF SL on my 240v 7kW generator, and it worked great! However, on my 2014 S (with the 6kW onboard charger), I am...

    Open Vehicle Monitoring System

I am interested in seeing new developments on this! I just got a new 2014 Leaf, S trim (the basic one). So no Carwings, and no nav system. I am already starting to miss the lack of remote charge monitoring.

    charging on generator

Thanks Phil. As I said, the connection is a L14-20 outlet. So it is 120+240 on the same plug. My generator does not have a 120/240v switch. It only has circuit breakers for the 120v outlets and one for the L14-20. I shall try the neutral->ground bond through 100k resistance on the L14-20 plug.

    charging on generator

I shall have to try this on my generator. I have one of Ingineer's excellent upgraded 2012 Leaf EVSEs. I have a Sportsman 7000w 240v generator. If I am charging on 240v, would it be safer to tie both of the hots and the neutral to ground (in the L14-20 plug) to ground via three 100k resistors...

    Bosch Power Max™ 30A - Seeking Reviews

Sounds like these unit are still so green that they need mowing, age wise. Will wait and see!

    Bosch Power Max™ 30A - Seeking Reviews

I would be very interested to hear if anyone has any trouble with this unit. My work is investigating options for additional/replacement EVSEs. The old Eaton units we have are very unreliable.

    Poll : $100 a month replacement offer

I may never need to replace my battery during my ownership of my Leaf, but I want the option to do so without any other encumberance against the vehicle (permanent rental, etc).

    Battery Replacement Program Details

Just a guess, but maybe he (and others) want to know the price now in order to have something to compare to in a few years. Or their battery hasn't dropped enough to be covered under the 5yr warranty, but its capacity is still too low for their commute. Or they just want to have one. Does the...

    Battery Replacement Program Details

I must echo others' concerns about this announcement. I leased my 2012 SL because I knew that interesting changes in batteries were Coming Soon, but I wanted an EV now. I have owned my last 3 cars. Not financed, not leased, but owned. I really want to own my next Leaf, but if my only options are...

Make Carwings data available via API or download

I read a neat article on Greencarreports on Carwings reporting a bad cell to the dealer before the owner even knew there was a problem. It would be awesome if Nissan offered a way for owners to access their historical Carwings data, particularly charge/discharge histographs, via a download or an...

Add ability to adjust charging rate

"1-2-3-4-5"? That's amazing! That's the same as the combination on my luggage!

Add ability to adjust charging rate

This is true, but I don't know of any public EVSEs that can be adjusted. Do you know of any purchasable EVSEs with adjustable pilots?

Add ability to adjust charging rate

There are times that I would like to be able to charge at a slower rate on L2 (say, during peak time, or if I'm on a circuit with limited capacity). Now that the 6kW charger is standard on 2 of the trims, can we at least get the option to toggle between 3.3kW and 6.6 kW charging rate? Being able...
