Unresponsive headunit 2012

Hi! I bought a 2012 leaf from wholesale auction "as is", and its headunit is non responsive. I can maybe touch the screen one to accept the warning message, but after that its non responsive, as in it doesn't react to any button presses, aside from the cilmate control. If i dont touch the touch screen will work untill i press it. I tried to disconnect the 12v battery, but that didn't do anything. Any ideas what could be wrong? Could I just buy another headunit from a scrapyard and plug it in?

Took the headunit out and when i plugged it in few hours later it started to work perfectly. Maybe the headunit didn't like the cold as the temperature was around -10c.
