Hi all,

another newbie question, does any one have experience with Pod Point Type 2 Tethered charger?

I have 2 charging cables with my car, 3 pin plug and Type 2 to Type 1, when using the 3 pin plug cable, it does work and charges the car.

However when trying to use the Type 2 to Type 1 cable on the Pod Point Tethered charger this is not charging (cable used on non tethered public charger and it works).

Is it something the Pod Point may have limit?

Is there any adaptor confirmed to be working with this setup?

This is mostly a USA forum.

Charging is different in the UK and EU.

I suspect you might get a better answer at a UK and EU forum.

Try this: ttps://www.speakev.com

You can't use your Type 2 to Type 1-cable as an adapter from another Type 2-cable. There is a built-in resistor in all of these cables, so the charging current doesn't exceed the rating of the cable. Because of this, the cables are constructed in such a manner that it is impossible to connect two cables in series and charge.

There are however adapters that make this possible like this one: https://evonestop.co.uk/collections...2-to-type-1-cable-adaptor-converter-16-32-amp
