Can I drive in turtle mode without can bridge

Hi.
I have ordered a Can bridge for my battery upgrade. I have a 24kwh 2014 Leaf. I am going to install a 40kwh battery.

If I install the battery now while I wait for the can bridge to be delivered. Will i be able to drive the car in turtle mode without installed can bridge?

Bad idea: turtle mode is not safe.
I did the reverse (installed the CAN-bridge, then my 40 kWh battery pack), and even that was wonky (but no turtle). Ideally you do them both at the same time, but that's a big job. I did the CAN-bridge first because if that doesn't "work"...you don't want to install the battery pack.
