Need to change the Language from Japanese to English

I've just bought my first EV. The language is in Japanese. I got hold of an English Leaf manual but can't duplicate the steps to change the language from Japanese to English. Even with a Japanese student she told me that the steps in the English version is not available on the touchscreen. The steps to change the language are:

Menu >> Settings >> Others >> Language >> English

We got as far as menu >> settings >> others >> but unable to find language.

Does anyone know how to go about changing the language to English?

It would be helpful to know which country you're in. For my North American 2011 Nissan Leaf, here is a video I just uploaded of me going into the language settings. As you can tell, it only gives the options for English or French...

Thank you for the video. I'm from New Zealand (NZ) and my 2012 Nissan Leaf was imported from Japan. Just in case if you're wondering why have I gone this route.
We do have Nissan Leaf in NZ, they're $70K (inclusive of on road charges) and no govt subsidies . It would have been cheaper for me to fly to the US, pay cash for a Nissan Leaf and ship it to NZ. The only problem is our vehicles are right hand drive.
My other option is, to take up Japanese evening classes at my local community college.

Yep, I'm pretty sure the language can't be changed on a JDM (Japanese domestic market) Leaf.

Wow that is expensive...the equivalent of US $57k. That's about 40% more than the "out the door" price of the most expensive Leaf sold in the US (the 2012 model in "SL" trim), depending on locality.

I don't think anyone has been successful here.
I've discovered the power of Google Translate, at least for the text. For the voice activation it's also a useful start and I can now successfully do a speed dial (although my pronunciation of the Japanese translation of 'dial' and 'back' is annoyingly similar).
Also, I reckon once the Aussies crash a few of their cars I'll be looking on the spare parts market for the head units. Nissan guy in Newmarket told me the newest models are still not made for the NZ market, they're Oz models (so including Oz navigation I gather).

Hi, I just imported a 2011 second hand Leaf from Japan to Mauritius where I have started working to promote renewable energies in the region. Of course, the vehicle came in Japanese . Is there any solution to this problem by now? Can the local Nissan dealership help me? Or a Japanese living there who could just set the language to English?
Does anybody have a practical suggestion for me? I am pretty much alone here as Leaf user for the time being, but I strongly believe that EVs are the future, and in small island states such as Mauritius, the future is now.
