On the ferry home with my newly purchased 30kWh Leaf, reading the owners manual and informing myself, I noticed something odd on the dashboard. Behind the glass is the carcass of a cockroach. Not worth spending $168 on the ferry to take the car back to the dealer. I have a reasonably good car workshop in my garage, with classics including 69 Alfa and 82 G-Wagon, plus a Jag in town, so I am reasonably competent in mechanics.

But with newer cars there are always plastic tabs that break first time because the shop manuals are written for the dealers and presume this is your second time pulling something apart.

Anyone know how to remove the dashboard plastic to get behind with a vacuum cleaner?

I've never done this but Leaf service manuals up to the 2015 year can be found at nicoclub.com. I'd assume the procedure is the same for a 2017 as a 2015 but that's just a guess.
