I only see two in San Diego County, both in Otay Ranch. Anywhere else nearby that's not on their map?

For some reason http://api.plugshare.com/view/location/54371" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; isn't on their map. I heard about it from a coworker before they appeared on Plugshare. I've successfully charged here 1/1 times and am the one who added the pics and the description.

Ha! Do my eyes deceive me or is the second charging station ICE'd by a taxi on the Volta Charging homepage?! Brilliant.

A Taxi for sure, but seems like a cord could be running to it. A C-Max Taxi?

The white one? I'm going with ICEd. There are none in the current crop of EVs and/or PHEVs with fog lamp cutouts that shape and size that I can find. The CUV looking thing behind could be a C-Max...not enough detail to make it out properly.

Edit: The taxi may be legit. I was just looking at the PlugShare photos - there are two EV Charging spots, but they appear to be offset from where the charging stations are planted. Then there is one taxi spot at the very end of the row. It seems to me that the white taxi may be in the taxi spot and the CUV or whatever it is may be double parked.

Edit 2: After looking at the photos for a considerable while now I'm convinced that the taxi driver does not deserve having PuPu smeared all over his car. :D

So, what do people think of Taxis sitting around when not busy and sucking up energy from "free" charging stations? (And generally more than the average user.) Were the free charging stations put there to support someone's business? It kind of feels wrong to me, but I can't really figure out any reason to object.

mwalsh, when I look closer at the Volta homepage photo, it seems like the taxi is in the EV space, but the second cord is being hidden behind the first pedestal. Done to stage the photo?

Well, taxi or not I do hope this business model works out! Would be nice if the advertisers valued this sufficiently to get companies like this to pop up all over the place (or at least at the places I want to go, :) )

Their map shows one at the Northridge Fashion Center Shopping Mall but I have yet to find it...
It's on the 2nd flr parking structure on top.. Alot of times ICE'd. I've yet to find a Volta that's 240, always 208 here in SoCal.

But they are popping up everywhere. Nothing to object to except they are always ICE'd because of lack of signage.

Shell is buying EV charging company Volta for $169 million
The oil giant previously acquired a charging network in the UK.

Shell previously bought Greenlots.

A version of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3DbwnJtClE showed up via a Daily Mail post that ended up in my FB feed. IIRC, that post talked about a "Tesla" charger. It really was from https://voltacharging.com. You can see the markings at 0:19.

I've used them before and they typically look like https://www.plugshare.com/location/72888.
