Reporting that the Maine Turnpike is upgrading all of the EVSEs on its Service plazas, each now has 2 62kW Chademo/CCS stations and each is adding 2 new CCS-only. This benefits everyone since CCS owners will prefer the new stations and Leaf owners get to use all of the Chademos. In 4 recent charges ( 2 up and 2 back) we never had to wait but there were people who arrived after us who waited to plug in- gratifying that there are so many EVs out there and that nobody was uptight, happy wait a few minutes and to be a part of the EV community.

EVgo finally installed 2 100 kW and a 350 kW charger in the Dallas area recently:

You’ve previously charged at:
Walmart - 3520 Hudson Dr, Stow, OH
Walmart - 7235 Market Place Dr, Aurora, OH
Walmart - 8585 Pearl Rd, Strongsville, OH
Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of our control, our chargers at these locations will be removed from service starting February 21, 2022.
We know it’s an inconvenience, but the good news is that there are other fast charging stations in your area to keep you ready for the road ahead. Here are our recommendations:
...
the recommendations listed are almost all L2 chargers. Also the walmart in streetsboro looks like its included. Seems like EVgo is vacating the region.

EVGo's new streamlined "Plug and Charge" service for compatible EVs w/ CCS:

CCS only.

Autocharge, not "plug and charge".

Autocharge reads a fixed car MAC address. Horrid security. Change your car's MAC address to one that someone else uses, that someone else gets the bill.

Plug and charge uses an encrypted handshake.

EVGo marketing is fuzzy. I found this
GM’s Plug and Charge service utilizes the latest iteration of EVgo’s Autocharge technology, adding enhanced security features. The Autocharge technology builds on EVgo’s leadership position in EV charging innovation and streamlines the customer experience.

"AutoCharge+" may be encrypted, I am not sure

At my last stop at the EVgo in Nanuet NY I was pleasantly surprised to see all 6 stations were upgraded from 50kW to 100kW. That was sometime in the last 6 months. It was really nice to charge adding 65% in 30 minutes. Initially it was at 72kW and had dropped off to 42kW after about 20 minutes. At 72kW it was adding 1 mile about every 11 seconds. It added 2 temperature bars and with continued driving another 100 minutes at 58 degrees out it never dropped a bar. I didn't use LS to check but I presume I was close to adding a 3rd temperature bar. I sure wish Nissan would just show the actual temperature,

Has anyone published a bar to temperature range table?

They charge by time so the cost was under $10 where last time I charged there it was $18.

It requires a combination of good weather conditions and economic driving to drop temp bars while driving at highway speeds.

Generally, you need to be above 4 miles/kWh in efficiency, and have a temp differential between pack and ambient of over 40-50F. If it's 55F outside, you can cool your pack from 120F to ~100F during a 90%-20% drive. That might drop 1 bar on your dash.

I am doing another Kansas run soon, with fingers crossed on optimized driving with 3 DC stops, so will see what I can manage.

Looks like it's beginning with other providers.

https://www.plugshare.com/location/457454 has 4 CCS plugs and 2 CHAdeMO across 3 stations. At least the 2 CHAdeMO are on different stations. Oddly, they only have 1 CHAdeMO to Tesla adapter there, not 2.

EVgo app is giving me an "unknown error" when I try to logi in

I can log into the web. I have a RFID card. But the app doesn't work.

Tried un install and re install. Didn't help.

Does this one really have the 100 kW ChaDeMo? Never seen it on EVgo before, good for them!

Solved.

I needed to put my cell number in, using the web interface. Once done, then got a different message which sent me a text, and enabled the app to work.

I signed up so long ago my cell number wasn't asked for.

I can confirm the two DC FCs are physically gone. Unless you knew what it looked like before, you'd hardly knew they were there before.

One spot where I believe one DC FC was has discolored (different colored) concrete vs before. There's now no public charging at all that I could see at that Walmart.
