You mean you have a 40 kWh battery Leaf and you stopped at 50 kW EA charger?

How do you know you started at 18 kWh? Was there any indication somewhere of 45% SoC (e.g. on the charger, EA's info, car's dash display)? You sure you don't have a 62 kWh Leaf Plus?

Porsche Taycan Takes US Coast-To-Coast Charging Record

I believe all the charging was done on EA. This was done by Wayne Gerdes (of cleanmpg.com) and Mr. Hypermiler Extraordinaire (https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2007/01/guy-can-get-59-mpg-plain-old-accord-beat-punk/). I met him briefly in person in Detroit in Jan 2009 when ~50 of us Prius fans (most were Priuschat members) + some folks from elsewhere (e.g. cleanmpg) were invited to the gen 3 Prius unveiling.

Wow, if https://www.plugshare.com/location/355949 at UC Davis is correct, then this will be an EA site that actually has an even ratio of CHAdeMO vs. CCS. It supposedly is a lone charger with 1 CCS and 1 CHAdeMO.

Nope; this is the standard Plugshare entry for a station not yet activated. Only on activation will we see the correct plug count. It has always been this way.

(Facepalm) Argh. You are right. So it's an example of only 2 CCS at a lone EA charger. The Plugshare entry was wrong. :(

I wonder if CARB is ok w/this?

They would not. Now wondering if they simply muscled CA into submission?

EV Charging Infrastructure Series Episode 1: Electrify America
We put EV fast-charging network questions to one of Electrify America's head honchos
...
This edition is hosted by InsideEVs editor and InsideEVs Forum moderator, Domenick Yoney. He is joined by Senior InsideEVs editor Tom Moloughney, host of the YouTube channel State Of Charge and Martyn Lee of the EV News Daily podcast.

Together, the panel talks with Senior Director at Electrify America Robert Barrosa and asks about all the various aspects involved in creating a robust and comprehensive DC fast-charging network.

This is the first in a series of bonus podcast episodes that looks at the challenges of creating a charging infrastructure that will make the transition to electric vehicles a cleaner, more affordable, and easier experience.
The video's about an hour long and I haven't had the time to watch it.

The EA app is showing a Coming soon site in Cheyenne, WY, although there's nothing on Plugshare yet. As this site's around 150 miles from Rawlins, they'll need at least one in between them to stay within their max. 120 mile spacing. Laramie is the obvious choice, as it's the junction for the shortcut to Loveland, Denver etc.

Take this with a grain of salt, but a poster in Plugshare said the eternally delayed station at Essex (Fenner) CA should be operational around April 7th.

Been busy for the past month but hope to be able to catch up on replies soon. In the meantime:

EA's updated station count:

750 Open / 81 Coming soon,

an increase of 19 open from last month.

EA posted 2021 data at
https://electrek.co/2022/05/02/electrify-america-reports-a-fivefold-increase-of-charging-sessions-in-2021-compared-to-2020/

Using 800 locations, the network averaged 5 charge sessions a day per location
Average session charge was 30 kWh

They haven't updated the station totals yet this month, but at the end of last month they had 750 open, and it's unlikely that they've been able to open another 50 in the interim, as they only had 81 Coming Soon. About the middle of last year they were claiming they'd have 800 open by the end of the year, even though it was obvious by that point that they'd have to average far more openings every month than was likely (or historically achieved by them).

One new Coming Soon site of interest for road trippers that's popped up on their map is in Billings, MT. As the closest open site to the west on I-90 is in Butte, 234 miles away, they'll need at least one more in between. I'd like to see two, in say Belgrade and Big Timber to allow people to reach Gardiner and West Yellowstone easily while coming form either east or west on I-90, but a single site in Livingston would at least allow people to get to Gardiner with minimal hassle.

Connecting eastbound from Billings to the open station in Gillette will also require at least one more station, although again two would be preferred given the intersections.

It looks like Fenner, CA finally opened. A very important station for anyone using I40.

That station had been waiting to go online for a long, long, long, long time.

Odd, I didn't get a text message like I usually do for sites I'm watching. Here's the address:

Najah Hi Sahara Oasis (Essex Fenner, CA)
31251 Goffs Rd, Essex Fenner, CA 92332

OTOH,

Target T2386 (Atwater, CA)
1000 Commerce Ave, AtWater, CA 95301

north of Merced on S.R. 99 also opened.

Current month's updated totals are 758 Open/76 Coming soon, an increase of just 8 open from last month.
