https://www.chevrolet.com/electric/bolt-ev/build-and-price/trim has now been updated for the 2020 Bolt.

I knew it was happening, but I'm still sad to see the "Shock" color go away. At least Orange is still available, although judging solely from pictures I preferred the original "Orange Burst" to the new, toned-down "Cayenne Orange".

I sat in a Bolt one more time at 2019 LA Auto show and thought that the seats felt fine this time, I actually thought they were good and overall the seating position was better than in the Leaf for my 6-4 height. The new Leaf feels pretty much as the 2011, same limited leg room, I wasn't impressed.

As I posted in another thread:
2020 Bolts have hit dealer lots. One guy who works at a local dealer posted a pic of one w/one of the new colors. He said 40 arrived yesterday.

Holy cow! If this is a legit deal and not some bait & switch or including some local rebate, this is a really good deal.

On a Bolt group (at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1521572851487669/permalink/2449866815324930/?comment_id=2449985611979717&reply_comment_id=2449998285311783, private), a Baltimore dealer has a '19 Bolt Premier (this is the higher of the two trim levels so that includes Surround Vision) in shock color supposedly for $23,687. Link still works at https://www.baltimorechevyourisman.com/VehicleDetails/new-2019-Chevrolet-Bolt_EV-5dr_Wgn_Premier-Baltimore-MD/3311171183.

Window sticker link can't be archived but it says this car has
"Destination Charge $875.00
Installed Options

DC fast charging $750.00
Shock $395.00
Infotainment Package $485.00
LPO, Tire inflator $105.00
LPO, Wheel locks $75.00
Driver Confidence II Package $495.00

Total Options $2,305.00
MSRP* $44,085.00"

That's AWESOME although I don't like the color. Infotainment package adds Bose stereo and the near useless wireless charging pocket.

My Bolt has all that except shock color (extra charge), tire inflator and wheel locks. And, assuming they didn't deduct $1875 Federal tax credit already to arrive at that price, that makes it even better. If it's legit, the thread starter will probably snag it if someone doesn't beat him to it.

On FB Bolt page, looks like someone went down to pick up one of those super cheap Bolts and its not quite that cheap. He didn't specify but mentioned that deal likely to come in "over $29k" he passed on it.

I remember seeing a lot of ads like that in which the tax credit was counted.

tax credit is $1875. The difference in price was several thousand more than that. Now "if" the writer of the ad was under the impression the credit was still $7500, then it would be close but still short. He was talking like $9k...

I'm sure that the "mistake" was completely "accidental."

A Chevrolet Bolt EV Set a Cannonball Run Record and No One Noticed | Torque News
https://www.torquenews.com/8861/chevrolet-bolt-ev-set-cannonball-run-record-and-no-one-noticed
A driver (thelondonbroiler on YouTube) set a record by driving his 2019 Chevrolet Bolt EV across the United States alone from New York City, New York to Los Angeles, California in 78 hours and 59 while only using publicly available fast chargers. The traditional cannonball run route is 2,825 miles (I described it in detail on a story describing how the Porsche Taycan could shatter the current EV cannonball record); however, this Chevy Bolt EV driver chose to take a slightly longer route through New Mexico and Arizona, which totaled 2,912 miles.
On his longer video, the good part is that he usually jumps over to Torque Pro on his phone so you can see his battery temps. He also sometimes references them. At some points, it was too cold for him to achieve good charging speeds.

OT: In a private Bolt group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1521572851487669/permalink/2448462372132041/, one guy posted pics of the new HD Surround Vision System. It finally offers left and right side curb views besides presumably much better picture quality. The guy made a reference to "we first got this view on Blazer".

It does look similar to what I see at https://youtu.be/1v0a_UXfUdg?t=528 at the 8:48 mark.

Yeah one of the biggest knocks on the Bolt (after the lack of tech)

How does this happen on a trip that consists of 10+ DC's a day???

He was traveling thru some pretty cold areas and also was using L2 while sleeping. I guess that was enough to get the battery to be too cold.

He did make remarks about his battery temps at many of his charging stops. I recall seeing some times where his battery temp per Torque Pro was below 50 F. At other times, it was above 90 F. As a reminder, https://www.chevybolt.org/threads/battery-conditioning.33279/#post-512173 as observations one guy made by Bolt thermal management. For reference so you don't have to repeat he work I did (Google's unit converter):
27 C = 80.6 F
31 C = 87.8 F
34 C = 93.2 F
37 C = 98.6 F

Some of his OATs were below 40 F.

This isn't necessarily the best example but I found that at around 17:45 of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8hyzmS5GM4, his OAT was 40 F and his app reports the battery temp at 55.4 F. If accurate, his charge rate may have only been ~27 kW at that point despite low SoC. At 21:20, you can see his OAT is 34 F and there's snow out.

Ok, the overnight thing completely eluded me. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't just charge 10 minutes, unplug then restart session to get a faster charge. On my LEAF when the batteries are cold, they still charge full speed but the knee happens a bit earlier. Not as bad as my 2018 but there is a bit of a difference.

I don't think that'll help on the Bolt. It sounds like if it's too cold, too bad until the battery's warm enough from charging, usage, ambient temps and/or the (2 kW?) battery coolant heater.

Apparently there's $8500 customer cash discounts available for 2020 Bolts. Seems like a good deal?

No. w/o a "significant" increase in charging speed, I would hold onto my money and wait for 2021... I guess...

They do imply the energy gained will be greater resulting in an additional 10 miles of range in 30 minutes. In my "80 kw" charger (advertised as 100 kw) I am getting roughly 33 to 41 additional miles of range over my 40's 50 kw charger for the same time period.

Someone in a Bolt FV group pointed to some prices from Good Chevrolet in Renton, WA: https://www.goodchev.com/VehicleSearchResults?search=new&make=Chevrolet&model=Bolt%20EV&sort=salePrice%7Casc#promo.

They show 2020 Bolt's LT's as low as $22,912 and Premier as low as $26,954. Unfortunately, they reflect a $2K discount for "Customer must trade in a 2010 or newer, 100k miles or less". So, add $2k if you don't wish to trade in.

As a reminder, tax credit on GM EVs/PHEVs is still $1875 thru the end of March 2020.

Screw that. Take your 2010 or newer car with less than 100k miles and privately sell it for what it's worth.
Probably double that $2k.

Seems like the cheap cars I mentioned above are gone but https://www.criswellchevrolet.com/VehicleSearchResults?search=new&model=Bolt%20EV&sort=salePrice%7Casc looks pretty decent.

Yeah, well we knew they wouldn't last at that price.

Question on road-tripping a Bolt in winter (I'm a Leaf owner but considering buying a bolt to take trips without gas).

I take a few annual trips during winter... say, about 500 miles each way (3 DCFC sessions) at about 20F ambient (-7C). I've read that the Bolt is slow to DCFC when cold. But I've also read that the Bolt will preheat the battery to 27C (80.6F) if it is plugged-in and fully charged. If you are plugged-in overnight before a winter trip, would you get full-(bolt)-speed charging at all three DCFC stops? (like 40kw below 60%SOC at Chargepoint/Greenlots and 50kw at EA?)

If you didn't plug-in overnight (such as when staying at a hotel), would only the first DCFC be slow, then subsequent DCFC sessions would be full (bolt) speed?
