Outside EV Project areas there may never be a charging station anywhere even close to within range. Except, perhaps, at a Nissan dealership, and I don't need carwings or smartphone apps to tell me where those 3 are.

I don't think we'll be getting factual real time data on charging station status. Perhaps one day, when the charger reports it's own status to carwings. But not for awhile.

In EV Project areas - we may even early on.

Real time data comes from real time drivers who call in what they are experiencing.

All drivers are experiencing the traffic they're in - how many are driving EVs and are experiencing a charging station?

A paid subscription That does not provide real time data?? Am i missing something here? I can get a paid subscription for traffic reports, so why can't i get status on charging stations?

Google's Android leapfrogging over iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows

By the end of this year, Google's Android smartphone operating system will in a single year have leapfrogged competitors like Apple's iPhone, Research in Motion's Blackberry and Microsoft Windows phones in global popularity, and will challenge Nokia to become the world's most popular mobile OS by 2014, research firm Gartner said Friday.
It will be interesting to see how my hometown company's Windows 7 mobile phones that come out this winter fare.
On this note... well, the predictions about Android came true long ago.

I was digging around for a Nokia thread to post this...

REDMOND, Wash., Sept. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Microsoft Corp. and Nokia Corp. today announced that the boards of directors for both companies have decided to enter into a transaction whereby Microsoft will purchase substantially all of Nokia's Devices & Services business, license Nokia's patents, and license and use Nokia's mapping services.

...
Under the terms of the agreement, Microsoft will pay EUR 3.79 billion to purchase substantially all of Nokia's Devices & Services business, and EUR 1.65 billion to license Nokia's patents, for a total transaction cost of EUR 5.44 billion in cash. Microsoft will draw upon its overseas cash resources to fund the transaction. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2014, subject to approval by Nokia's shareholders, regulatory approvals and other closing conditions.
So much for Stephen Elop's denials that he wasn't a Trojan horse: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/cell-phones/nokia-ceo-states-he-is-not-a-trojan-horse-conspiracy-theories-killed/5468" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

verizon is buying out Vodophone and MS is buying Nokia? hmmm, unrelated? probably not.

As far as #1 mobile OS, Droid has been king for at least a few years now...
