Re: 100 Mile Club & 200 km Club, plus Longest Drive (unrefue

I am glad I got that out of my system. A trip out to the summer camp (51.4 miles), a bit of house hunting (16.8 miles), commuting to work (32.0 miles) and a bit of cruising the neighborhood (24.2 mile) and you get 200.3 km on a charge. Nice to see what the LBW and VLBW look/act like. Didn't turtle and I don't plan to ever get close again. Now it's back to my hum drum 80% to 45% commuting cycle.

I hereby apply for membership in the 100 mile club.

Image

Yesterday I drove 122 miles at a 7.0 mpk average. I did start at ~500 ft elevation, but I was at sea level in just a few miles. I tried to maintain 30 mph, but in practice it was closer to 27-28, and the dash says an average speed of 24.9. Leafbatt screenshots and dash photos are here.

Over the five hours of my journey, outdoor air temps rose from 52 to 58 under overcast skies in Seattle. I used no climate control or headlights – not even my seat heaters. I’m glad I did it early in the morning with light traffic as I was constantly watching my power meter and trying to keep my load to just one pixel.

I planned to hit turtle within a half mile of Younker Nissan’s QC (THANKS NISSAN!), but the plans didn’t work out as intended. Turtle came on when I was two large blocks away and I thought I was golden. When I got there, an ICE was in the QC spot (it was a customer’s car and the spot was only labeled
“customer”, so understandable) so I parked next to it thinking to move over when it came open.

Unfortunately, my Leaf took a full stop as an excuse to power down, leaving me unable to drive the one parking space to the QC! The sales manager was happy to let me charge and we stretched the L2 cord far enough to start charging. By the time the customer left, I still didn’t have enough charge to move, so they helped me push my car over to the QC. I charged up to 9 bars before I ran into my next appointment and had to leave.

I kept a Leafbatt log and I want to upload it. Can anyone suggest a free site or instructions on how to upload it directly to the board?

Not bad for a two year old pack with only 91.7% CAP!

Congratulations, not bad. When I drove 151 miles on one charge, my car was only at 89% capacity.

Given how hard I worked to get my 7.0, I am truely amazed that you got over 8.

Yeah, but the first 101 miles was during an Efficiency Rally so I had a big yellow sign on the back that allowed me to keep the Power circles to zero-1 while accelerating which besides coasting, is the key to high efficiency. Not many hit 7, so you can be proud of that achievement.

Tony, Are you the keeper of the official list? Do I qualify for #50?

I was waiting for a confirmation on a guy up thread who claimed "100 miles" but I sense that he didn't actually drive that far. It's easy for newbies to see 100 on the GOM and assume they could drive that far.

I'll send him a PM asking for clarification.

LEAFfan, your total is very impressive. I have also noticed, that if I can stay at the 0 power circle, which is very slow acceleration, that you seem to get max efficiency. How did you minimize your stops during the run?

Tony, What evidence do you need for the 120 Mile club? Is a few shot of the dash at intervals over the drive sufficient?

Just explain what you did. Pics are great. Generally, I can sniff out the "not quite there" posts. Usually it's somebody new who is all excited that their GOM shows 100 miles or more.

But, let's throw down the gauntlet this summer!!!! We need more members here:

200 kilometer (124.3 miles) Club

1 - Edmonds.com (1 time)

2 - N1ghtrider (3 time...first forum participant)

3 - LEAFfan (1 time) and current highest mileage record holder

4 - TNleaf (1 time)

5 - phillipcoggins (1 time)

6 - yogi62 (1 time)
