Nice Before and After pictues.
I, too, like the lighter color that you used.

Re: Wood Dash Kits Available

I used a putty knife to remove the pieces from the sticky board which worked well.

Re: Wood Dash Kits Available

Once you get the piece off the shipping-board, is the sticky-side if the piece exposed so that if it touches anything ... it IS STUCK?

Or, is there still a non-sticky, peel-off layer over the stickey-side of the piece, allowing the piece to be positioned, moved around, and taped in place so that it will not move around while removing the non-stick backing?

The entire back of the piece has a red plastic thin film that needs to be peeled off before sticking..

Re: Wood Dash Kits Available

How difficult would this be to remove and return to original appearance if the dealer objects at the end of the lease, or if I simply end up doing a sloppy job of it?
I noticed you're still working with polymers.

Re: Wood Dash Kits Available

I had to remove the large piece over the glove compartment 4 times to get it right - including one time a week after installation. There was no effect on the original surface.

Re: Wood Dash Kits Available

i wonder if applying these "wet" would be easier...basically apply like vinyl letters and graphics...spray the applique with distilled water containIng a drop of liquid detergent...than it will slide arround giving you time to center arround all the holes...then squegge out as much water as you can taking care not to move it and allow to dry overnight...I bet something like 20 min and being able to do one handed and a lot less stress I ordered a kit and will report back with wet technique...sinc kp couch

Good news, thanks! 5 tries is pretty generous.

electricfuture wrote:Here are the pics of my Remin synthetic wood dash. I chose the Honey Burl “SHBW” as it has black highlights which tied into the black Leaf dash accessory/knob colors. Note that the actual color is very different than that shown on the CarID website: http://www.carid.com/2012-nissan-leaf-wood-grain-dash-kits/item-312871.htmlImage I strongly suggest ordering the sample kit for $5 (you choose 4 samples) before you purchase.

The installation was considerably more difficult and took longer than we expected with 2 people working on it. We are now experts and are available to help people in the San Diego area install the kit (negotiable).

Dang, nice choice. That perforated leather looks great too! Very professional!

Re: Wood Dash Kits Available

The wood trim gives the car a luxery look to it..If anyone else is going to do it with the blue center console, you may want to think about painting it gray or black..

I wanted more of a sporty look and went with the carbon fiber..Im going to take out the center console and cover it entirely with CF before adding that finale piece....
