Just came across this from the ACEA.

After breezing over the below .pdf I could not help but notice a couple things.

http://www.acea.be/images/uploads/files/20110922_ACEA_Position_Paper_on_EVs_standardisation.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

1 - "backwards compatability with CHAdeMO shall be recommended"
2 - That plug looks alot like the SAE standard.

Noticed that yesterday, and started a related discussion here:

I think Better Place may be going a proprietary route. I think they may want direct control over billing for the electricity.
Also, they seem to be the champions of battery pack swap stations more than quick charging.

That makes sense, if they are offering battery swapping then there is no need for quick charging.. but the proprietary connector for normal charging is disappointing, previously they had mentioned that other BEVs would have access to their charging networks. Apparently you carry the cord in the car, both the car and the charging station have sockets.. so perhaps you could get a cable with the proper connector for your own personal BEV.
PBP will use quick charging but only after the battery has been removed from the car.

They might even be able to get away with slow charging the car-less packs if they have enough full ones stored ready for cars that might pull up.

Anyone used this? :

Hmmm ....

The auto industry advocates the full implementation for new vehicles types from 2017.
