They do not have a Nissan tech. I don't know if he quit or was fired. I also don't know how long they have been without a tech. They have another tech in training, but he won't be back until September 3rd. It really surprises me that they would put themselves in that position. When I called Jim Click, they mentioned that they had 2 or 3 Leaf techs.
Jason, I talked to R.J. at Thoroughbred and he told me that their LEAF service technician did leave to take a job somewhere else, but two technicians have finished the training and are on site now. R.J. has moved to the finance department. Michelle Lipinski has taken over at the LEAF sales specialist. She is also the internet sales coordinator. Zach Stephens was trained to be a LEAF sales specialist last summer. Then sometime last winter he was promoted to Service Manager, so he has a background in the LEAF.
Click Nissan might have more techs, but have you ever been there and tried to get someone to help you with something? I went there 3 times last summer with questions about the LEAF and they could tell me nothing. They said they would find out and contact me and never did. They were always too busy to look it up while I was there, even when I made an appointment to meet the LEAF person.
I'll stick with Thoroughbred. Everyone there has been very friendly and helpful.
