Battery Lease

Does anyone know what ever happened to the idea of leasing the Leaf battery? is it still alive and if so, what the terms would be and how would it work?

I see where leasing the whole car is an option but I was curious about the battery lease idea. Since the battery technology will likely advance significantly over the next 5 years, it migght be smart to just lease the battery if the terms were ok. ;)

Re: Battery Lease

No battery-only lease currently offered by Nissan in the USA.
Nissan just offers the whole car buy or lease.

The US tax credit applies to a "complete" EV (including the batteries). Without batteries, the car would not qualify, and the batteries alone are not a "vehicle".

In other countries, the battery-leasing might still be an option.
