Since I want to drive as "green" as possible I will probably find that I like having ECO on all the time. I want as much regen as I can get, at least when I need to slow down quickly or go down steep hills. I don't want acceleration that forces me back into my seat and stresses my heart. Admittedly I can control the acceleration, but it looks like I can't get maximum regen without ECO.johnr said:I don't get the idea behind that "ECO" mode...it's an electric car after all...the manner in which you drive a vehicle determines how "eco" you are, why does an EV need a mode for this? :?
I suspect the intelligent Leaf owner wouldn't be hopping on an Interstate when their SOC reads 'empty'.garygid said:However, that could be a safety issue if one suddenly lost "full-acceleration capability" just as they were trying merge onto the freeway into a line of fast-moving trucks, as often happens here.
You have not driven a Prius on a regular basis have you. Gary 'complained' in the following post about having to hold very light pressure on the accelerator pedal to coast. That is one feature I REALLY hope Nissan has implemented in the Leaf. A larger dead band would be really nice as he is right, it can be hard to hold.JasonT said:I don't see what is wrong with some regen braking happening when you let off the accelerator.
