The hidden world of chinese battery upgrades

Okay so here is something interesting. Nissan made a Chinese only market BEV, that is called the Nissan Sulphy. Take a look at that picture, it looks so, normal! Why EU doesn't get something like this is perplexing. The english Wikipedia page for Nissan Sulphy doesn't even mention that it comes as an EV version!

It seems to share very much of the drivetrain with the Nissan Leaf, so I am piloting the first customer upgrade in China next month. The Sulphy comes in a 38kWh variant. You read that right, it is a 38kWh battery, not a 40kWh battery like in the Leaf. Judging by the pictures I received, there is also some strange access port on the rear stack, very unsure what this is about. Anyone got ideas?

So, as I was saying, I've sent a CAN-bridge to a customer there, that will be testing out putting a Sulphy battery into a Leaf. Exciting!

Will be interesting. We have posted a few times about the Sylphy BEV before.

That would indeed be exciting if Sulfy batteries could be exported to other countries for LEAF battery replacement

So why can't the US and rest of world have "normal" looking cars for EVs instead of the goofy stuff, eg bmw, mitsubishi, laef? That Sulphy is sweet.

Non-EV folks are turned off by the looks before they even have a chance to explore the electric experience. Is that great marketing, or the greatest marketing in the world?

I dunno but the Sylphy is aka the Sentra in the US, which is an econobox, the 2nd cheapest in their car lineup (https://www.nissanusa.com/vehicles/new.html).

Might lead to comparisons of the price of ICE vs. EV Sentra and consumers saying no...

Any chance the port is for pack cooling?
That looks like an electrical connection

Dalek informed me what this is on another channel
"One of the 40kwhr salvage packs I saw when I got my 62kwhr pack had one on each side of the rear stack. One was knocked off and became a souvenir. I think that is an engineering test battery pack picture, I don't know why it would be on a production pack. The port is a spring loaded rubber seal pressure relief valve. "

Hi. I have a chance to came across this kind of packs.
They have a standard data port as ze0 and fire exhaust valves, but everything else as regular aze0 pack. Where is some pictures.
Unfortunately, car starts only once.
One of the pictures is how I wired it up. only 2 wires difference, everything else color-to-color match.
