So something that I found lacking was that there was no Wikipedia page for the Nissan EM electric motors. Since there has been massive changes over the years, it would be good to have some place with all the facts gathered. I created a page that is currently in draft state: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Nissan_EM_motor

Do you have something you'd like to add?

And does anyone know what motor code the 62kWh eplus LEAF has? Is it the same EM57 or has there been some mechanical changes?

Pretty sure it's still EM57 per https://www3.nissan.co.jp/content/dam/Nissan/jp/vehicles/leaf/2010/pdf/leaf_specsheet.pdf. (Search that PDF for EM57).

There are other references on the Japanese Leaf pages that reference it but I don't have the bandwidth to dig right now.

I know they kept the EM57 for the 40kwh Leaf, and I think but am not certain that they just bumped up the power to it yet again for the 62kwh cars. Nissan basically wanted to turn the existing Gen 1.5 Leaf into the Gen II without any more major modifications than were necessary. These electric motors are kind of like the old VW Beetle engine that could be quadrupled in power: you can get amazing power boosts from them if you try.

That was my understanding as well, which I think I've seen a few places in my travels, reading up on the Gen2 Leafs before purchase.

Can't recall the exact source(s) though...

https://www3.nissan.co.jp/vehicles/new/leaf/specifications.html says EM57 if you click 40 and 62 kWh.

EM57 was correct for gen 1 e-Power Note but not gen 2. https://global.nissannews.com/en/releases/201124-01-e from 2020/11/23 mentions EM47. https://www3.nissan.co.jp/vehicles/new/note/specifications.html also refers to EM47.

You might also want to add https://web.archive.org/web/20160306132625/http://saegtl.org/ev/data/uploads/ev-content/gtlev_tp_2014-01-1879.pdf as a reference. I'd pointed to it from https://mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=518359#p518359.
