Adding CHADEMO to AZE0 LEAF

Wed May 12, 2021 5:53 am

Hi,
So I have a customer that is eager to get fastcharging after having a 40kWh pack fitted. Now getting a Chademo charger fitted seems easy at first(same as 3.3 -> 6.6kW retrofit), but then some issues pop up. Maybe this can serve as a guide if it is succesful?

So parts needed
- Charger with CHADEMO connector input
- Chademo port and High voltage wiring to charger
- Wiring for QC-CAN?

Snip from wiring diagram

If it could be done for $2,000 or less, It could be worth it on newer Leaf Plus models in a couple years.

I am kind of surprised setec hasn't tried building an adapter yet, understanding that it is difficult.
