Hello friends,

I've had my Nissan Leaf for 5 years now and absolutely love it. I've lived in very mild Vancouver where temps get down to MAX -2 degrees C which is about 30 degrees F.

I have recently moved with my 2015 Nissan Leaf S to the Northwest Territories in Canada. Temps can be as low as -45 C or F. I do not have a heated garage but will have access to charging at all times the car is not used (standard outlet). My commute is about 5KM or 3 miles from my house each way so I'm not too concerned with range. My biggest concern is ruining the battery by freezing it. Looking for advice from people who operate (if any) these cars in extreme cold for long periods at a time. If there is anything anyone recommends that would make this a better experience I would love to hear about it!

Thanks!

Kyle from the Arctic :)

I'd begin by reading the owner's manual. It describes the function of the battery-warmer and temperature limitations.
