Calibrating touchscreen

I've noticed on the screen the on certain parts of it I need to press to the left of the area/ letter/ number I want to select.
Is there any way of recalibrating the screen?

Per the service manual, the touchscreen registration can be calibrated via the CONSULT diagnostic equipment, which generally means a dealer visit. I don't know if there is any other way to get to that mode.
