If you were charging two vehicles at once, they would be requiring different voltages and currents. It's not like you can parallel the high current terminals, and of course, the protocol will be vastly different if one is CCS and the other is CHAdeMO. So you need completely separate power electronics for the two handles.
Precisely, which is why these dual purpose DC chargers are idiotic.
What's needed is a low cost, compact machine built for a single purpose - to charge any EVs based on a universal DC charging standard that doesn't exist right now. That's why I'm saying that deploying a large DC fast charging infrastructure now is premature.
I feel like I'm belaboring my point, so I'm not going to try to defend it anymore. If you guys don't understand the point I'm making then my bad - I've failed to communicate it properly.
