Many posts about bike racks seem to be a few years old, so I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a rear-mounted bike rack for this model (or one that is fairly recent). Would love to be able to get the kids out on some bike trails.

Curt makes this LEAF hitch, compatible with 2013 - 2017 LEAFs:

I remember reading a post, somewhere on these forums, where someone mentioned getting that same Curt hitch to work on a 2019 LEAF with minimal changes needed. You'll need to dig for that, if you're interested.

Actually, I just did a quick Google search and found the reference - it was an Amazon review that mentioned it:

"With the help of a previous post I was able to fit this (Curt 11396) on my 2019 Nissan Leaf. Bought 2 bolts (M12-1.25 thread pitch x 35mm length) that normally come on the older models but not on the new body style Leaf. There is some drilling required but I just followed the instructions and it worked great"

A reddit poster (maybe the same person, LOL) mentioned:

"Well just finished the install, it’s the same for the 2011-2017 leaf, the Curt 11396 works fine. One difference from the instructions: my 2018 leaf did not have the rear tie down bracket/ tow hook installed, therefore there were no bolts there to be reused. I had to buy 2x M12x1.25 ( fine thread) at least 30mm long to install the passenger side of the hitch."

So it definitely sounds doable.

There are plenty of bike racks that mount to a 1-1/4" hitch receiver, just one example:

I just did this about a month ago. I installed a 2" hitch from Torklift Central:

Thre install was fairly straightforward, followed along YouTube video:

Finally, I picked up the RockyMounts SplitRail LS 2" bike rack from a local bike shop:
