I'm thinking the best place would be to install something in one of the AC vents, but I'd rather not block that unless I have to.

I have a 2020 Leaf Plus SV.

To be honest, I just use the nav screen -- tilt it out as far as it will go and then I lay my phone on top, using the nav bezel as a "ledge". At first I worried that falling would be a problem but it turns out to be stable enough, and presents a decent viewing angle. Depends on the size and thickness of phone, and case I suppose. I go for smaller phones; currently using iPhone8 with the thin leather case.

Unfortunately, the 2019 and newer Plus models have a fixed screen (not sure about 40 kWh models). I attached a charging cradle with screws to the plastic trim piece near the A/C vent to the left of the steering wheel knowing I could replace that trim piece if I ever need to remove the cradle. Nissan offers an accessory wireless charging cradle that mounts in the little storage space below the power button for 2018 and 2019. I suspect they also offer it for 2020, but the power wiring to install it requires removal and reinstallation of most of the trim panels on the passenger side of the dash so I chose not to purchase it.

I've been thinking about buying one this one:

I like that it's front and center, perfect location for navigation :)

I 3D printed a cellphone mount bracket from Thingiverse.com: https://mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=31995

CupPhone by Weathertech. Easy in and out. Take it to any car. Close to the USB ports for charging. Works for me.

I know I'm a week late to the party... On the off chance you haven't decided yet, or someone else is reading this, I can't say enough good things about iOttie Easy One Touch 5. My wife and I both have one and no complaints. Sticks to the glass well, can be adjusted to fit just the way you want, and holds the phone securely.

There is also a version with wireless charging built in if that's your thing.

I put a Popsocket on phone and bought a stickon Popsocket holder made to be used with the Popsocket pulled out. I stuck it above the audio and menu buttons on top left of video screen. Works great!!

I didn't have any good options either and new laws made my old one which stuck to the windshield illegal (and the suction cup finally gave out) so I got one with about a 30" arm on it and mounted it to the cupholder.

People ride me for taking pix while driving...well, I am actually not really holding the phone, the holder is. Yeah, its a bit of a job to get it aimed right and it bounces a bit but its digital film so I take 3 or 4 then wander thru the 20 odd exposures to find one that is focused (or close to focused)

I keep it in my pocket. Or if I need to charge it off the USB socket, I stick it in the console well directly below the USB socket.

If I need to place or answer a call, the Bluetooth controls for the phone are right on the steering wheel. And if I need to send or read a text, or check my email, then I also need to pull over.

I leave mine (an LG VN220 "Exalt" clamshell -- I refuse to own, much less carry, a full-on smartphone) in my pocket. I can, after all, place and answer calls via the Bluetooth.

Now on the other hand, next month, I'll almost certainly be looking for a mount for a portable GPS navigator. I already installed a hidden, dedicated 12V socket for it when I tapped power for my "flap ajar" alarm.

I stuck a pop socket holder on the screen surface right above the menu/ audio button. I can reach buttons and phone is right next to my right hand on steering wheel.

+1 for WeatherTech. Great stuff. Besides the Cup Phone for the car they have Desk Phone which is the same thing for in the house/office.

https://www.proclipusa.com/ - these guys’ - no wobbly mount and no screws, double tape or suction cups.

You can also keep your phone specific holder or replace just the phone piece if you change your phone

I couldn't stand one that blocks any a/c flow. It looks very good otherwise.
