Heater Won't turn Off While Charging

Charging my Leaf for the first time as we speak. The charge timer is *off*, but the heat is running when the car if turned off. When I turn the car "On" the heater turns off, but obviously I can't leave it that way.

How do I turn the heater off? Again - timed charge is off.
 
First, a question: what year and model Leaf is this? This is important info and should be added to your signature line via the user control panel. Now, is the car actually blowing hot air through the vents? If not, you may be hearing the cooling pumps. If the heat is indeed running, then the floor is open to suggestions.
