I noticed a lot of the used leafs on dealer lots, and auctions are missing the SD cards..

Can you buy one? or copy one?

how much?

I believe you can buy one thru the dealer, and it's several hundred dollars ($300 ish???).
I don't think you can copy one, as I believe it is in some way tied to the car or head unit number (or both)...

I'm not sure buying a card not from the Dealer will work...

When I bought my LEAF, the dealer (not a Nissan dealer) told me that they sometimes buy the used cards from eBay or wherever, and then slip the Nissan dealer a $50 or so to reprogram it to the LEAF they're trying to sell.
Do the map updates go into the second SD card slot, or do they replace the main card? If they replace the main card, then there's probably some (perhaps simple?) mapping between the three values SET/SNO/NAVI-1 and the three values that you need to give when buying the updated maps.

Many dealers and auction yards remove the SD cards to keep them from being stolen. The dealer with the first Leaf I looked at told me this. They did show me that they had the EVSE and SD card for the car. It was stored in a box in the Sales Managers office.

I had to wait a few days for the auction place to ship the SD card, before I took delivery of the Leaf I did buy.
