7/11 is getting into the charger game. Seems like a good idea to me, though I don't know what the DC kW will be. Need more detail. Article mentions that some exist already, maybe someone here has seen one?

I hope it works out for them. Locations that service highway travelers will be a great addition if they offer 150+ kW charging.

By the way, 7-11 is owned by a Japanese conglomerate that also owns the 'Speedway' chain of fossil fueling stations. I know from watching Bjorn Nyland youtube videos that fossil stations are rapidly adding EV services. I hope it catches on here too. The next step will be to convert the present day tarmac,oil and stink to a place that is pleasant to hang out for 30 minutes.

That Shell station was remodeled over a year ago, and they took the opportunity to add a few DC charging stations.

I think their intent is best summed up by this from the PR:
Once this expansion is complete, the company will have one of the largest and most compatible fast-charging systems of any retailer in the U.S.

All their images show this station, which looks like it has a CHAdeMO and a CCS handle (and a Chargepoint logo):

ChargePoint has 156 Amp and (I think) 500 Amp products but to my eye they look the same on the outside.

Based on this CSP article, the 4 new stations installed in West Sacramento, CA are 125kW-capable:

I couldn't find them listed in Plugshare.
I'm also curious to find out the charging station manufacturer.

The article states "Drivers can charge their vehicles at the four new advanced 125kW-capable EV fast chargers", but PlugShare lists each handle as 62.5kW each.

So they're ChargePoint stations. Looks like their Express 250 model @ 62.5 kW:

Its a good idea for 7 Eleven as it will cater to a clientele waiting around for a charge. Why not eat. :)

In this province BC hydro is farming out some of the CCS and Chademo sites to Tesla. They essentially give Tesla a grant to cover siting and permits. But it kinda looks funny. Below is a picture of the new Williams lake Supercharger/FLO site. One Flo station and 8 Superchargers...at 2.5 to 5 times the speed. I think it will work for Tesla as they'll have a captive audience of EV owners watching Tesla owners coming and going and spending about half the time. Gotta say though. FLO is actually a fairly reliable network.

500 kW shared by 4 boxes might be the 125 kW mentioned.

That definitely looks like the station (I mentioned they were ChargePoint from the picture on the first page).

That link says "Liquid Cooling Technology", which would explain the thin hoses.

Looks like they are committed to having both CCS/CHAdeMO at this point, which is surprising to me at this point.
 
Not sure why it's surprising. A majority of the EVs on the road are still Chademo friendly (when you include Teslas ...no supported ccs adapter here yet). Admittedly, it will go down, but very little additional cost and much wider market.

Me too.

It might be because that is what Chargepoint offers, or because they received a dieselgate grant.

60 kW is disappointing, and liquid cooled cables would not be needed. Information is sparse these days ...

I read the other day that Tesla has been adding the hardware needed for CCS1 compatibility to all its cars since February. That will presumably give owners an adapter path if they want to pay for it.

I expect based on past Tesla behavior for older cars to be offered a hardware upgrade path. I hope to avail myself of it, rather than spend $400 on an adapter to the Zombie CHAdeMO network. If you read TMC you will find that is the overwhelming preference. They ain't stupid.

Eagle-eyed jlv noticed the ChargePoint (CP) logo on the charger handle.
The CP website shows what looks like exact boxes, minus the 7-11 branding.
 
All for it, 7-11 has a bathroom and snacks if you want it. Some chargepoints I deal with are not near anything useful. I think this could be a good business move for the convenience stores as we are typically there longer than a gas fill up so may be more tempted to go in. I also don't care much about more fast chargers in a city I need them off the highway for long distance trips. I do see Uber/Lyft people hit DCFCs in town though and I would assume apartment dwellers do too.
