Good to have a few 100 kW CHAdeMO stations. Unfortunately the CHAdeMO infrastructure seems destined to not get much off the ground in the U.S..

Hoping existing ones will be maintained for at least 10 years for existing Leaf owners.

CCS and Tesla maintains the trajectory for the future here.

I’m not sure I follow.

From what I gather from the article there are 6 Chademo and 6 CCS.

We have had three dual stations go in around us in the last couple months. Always 2 Chademo and two CCS. I actually don’t think I have seen it any other way. I’m not sure I would write Chademo off yet. At least where we are.

That’s why that site was mentioned, in terms of trends and typical developments, it’s an outlier.

Look at total numbers of CHAdeMO, CCS, and Tesla stations currently in the US. Then look at growth of each currently, and there is no stretch involved.

Most current larger developments is ratio of CCS:CHAdeMO at rapidly being built EA stations.

Also look at how well stations are being maintained, abandonment of No Charge to Charge, ...

Not saying CHAdeMO is gone in next few years. But doubt 10 years from now the network is healthy in the US.

If not for EA and its rather transparent motives, this would not even be a topic.

There’s also the problem with negative feedback. Leaf sales in the US continue to stagnate and there is no growth with CHAdeMO with other vehicles here.

CHAdeMO will probably only survive in Japan, just as with their unusual 100V standard. Island effects...

If Leaf as a vehicle continues to sell over the years in the US, suspect Nissan will eventually capitulate and switch to CCS here.

We got a 6 station EvGo 100kw station on Monaco Parkway in Denver. I only got 54kw out of it but it was about 90 or so when I went so it may be temperature related. Some guy with a phone took a lot of pictures of us in the car from different angles at the station, maybe happy to see people using it? I know I see others who checked in before me.

Regarding Chademo China is another possibility. https://electrek.co/2020/04/28/chademo-and-china-release-new-ev-quick-charging-standard-in-a-bid-to-leapfrog-the-industry/
