Yeah the unit might cost $4,000 then you would have to spend another few thousand to get an electrician to rewire your house for transfer breakers for backup power. It all depends on the power inverter and exactly how it's setup, which the article was totally absent on details of.
I run my whole house on a 17.5kw or 7kw generator.
The entire setup, with both generators was a lot less than $4000.
