I just checked my "favorite" EA site and the free candy is over. No more complimentary session on the display. I went to check the other site that was free Friday and it was over, as well.

I've added two sites to the Western road trip sites I'm watching list: Yuba City and Chico, CA, both on S.R. 99 north of Sacramento. These will open up the Feather River and Lake Almanor areas, and also provide access to Lassen N.P. from the south.

Also, the apparently now-monthly map update has happened, and the current Open/Coming soon count is 579/146.

The site in W. Wendover, NV is open, making I-80 between NorCal/Reno and SLC practical. Still want Lovelock to shorten the slightly long (129 mi.) leg between Fernley and Winnemucca, and they could use another between Wendover and SLC (125 miles), given the 80 mph limits much of the way.

I've added a site in Santa Maria, CA (U.S. 101) to my list. This will serve as infill north of or instead of Solvang, and unlike the latter isn't 4 miles off the highway.

I just had a thought. Maybe EAs low uptake of chademo connectors has more to do with trying to keep Teslas off their network, rather than punishing the 150K Leaf owners.

What would the justification be for discouraging their largest potential customer base?

That's a critical one, making I-40 between Barstow and Flagstaff practical. Still need Fenner to shorten the Barstow to Needles leg.

Hopefully Quartzsite, AZ on I-10 will soon follow, completing the last of the major E-W interstates connecting California to the east.

BTW, Wet, my replies to your other posts were delayed due to losing my phone a couple of days ago. Someone found it and I got it back today, but the screen's much the worse for wear and hard to read so I need to get a new phone, and my replies will likely be slowed for a while until I do. I've got my 2nd vaccine appt. confirmation text in this one, so I'll be keeping it for at least a couple more weeks until that's out of the way. Fortunately I just got a captioned phone for my landline, so I've been enjoying two-way verbal phone conversations with my friends again for the first time in about a decade, instead of having to guess at 75-90% of what they say

Yes, that is an important one for I40. Now I just need an EV with legs to match...
