Have any hotel chains announced plans to provide free or paid charging for guests? Just as Wifi availability is a factor in choosing a hotel, if I were planning a (short) weekend trip I'd look for a hotel where I could charge overnight. Else we'd have to leave the Leaf in the garage and take the ICE, and how much fun would that be? :)

Also, I wonder if the Leaf's nav system has the capability to search on multiple criteria. E.g., "restaurant AND charging", "hotel AND L2".

Can LEAF-Nav even search in POI descriptions (not Names) at all?

Well, your Prius can search on distance, type of place, name, etc., and I would expect the Leaf NAV to be at least as smart. In fact since it's integrated with Google maps and the car is connected all the time by cell network, I'd hope it would be as capable as mapping apps on Android and iPhone.

But then that's just hope. Maybe we'll hear something from gudy over on the owner's thread when he starts looking at his Nav system, since he traded in a Prius.

according to the "ChargePoint" iPhone app, "Element Hotels" and "residence Inn" near me (Boston) have L2 chargers... Element Hotel in Waltham, MA and the Residence Inn in Concord, NH. Of course those are the only 2 that show up in my area, and they are not that close to Boston itself.

We also have a furniture store showing a ChargePoint as well, "Cardis Furniture", in West Warwick, RI

the ChargePoint network is free to join, they send you either a key fob or an RFID credit card (I think the cost is $10 for the access device), most of the charging is still free, but the venue can decide to charge for it at some point. Of course a credit card can be linked to your "ChargePoint" account..

I have, from second hand observation, that there are two hotels in Concord NH with L2: the residence inn and one other. (I can ask for the name of other one if anyone is intersted)

here's a UK map of hotels supporting 32A (ZCW) and Tesla 70A (HPC) EV charging;

Another 1,000 hotel sites are expected to go live in the next 12 months. All sites offer free charging in return for the purchase of a meal or overnight stay.

This is one I've personally visited; it's L1 only, there's no J1772 connector. This hotel is next to Trenton/Mercer Airport. Might be within the Leaf's driving range from NYC, definitely within range from Philly. L1 might be OK for an overnight stay. A better place for a quick top-off might be the train station at Hamilton NJ, which has one 6-20R 240 outlet for EV charging. Bring a modified Nissan/Panasonic EVSE with appropriate adapter.

I’m sad to say but the number of hotels I can charge at on my trips has actually decreased since 2013.

Many hotels that had exterior outlets in the past, no longer do,
When asked they claim that transients plug the spots and have to repeatedly get towed out of the spots with outlets.

Their solution is to remove all exterior outlets
