It rolled out yesterday, a day early. I tried it out briefly last night and noticed that even the free tier had the RDM version of BSG and it looked like all eps were free/included. Semi-watched most of the final ep and there was only 1 ad break.

Unfortunately, Comcast/Xfinity is my cable and broadband provider, but since they're all part of NBC Universal, they're including Premium for most Xfinity customers (https://www.xfinity.com/peacock?pc=1) if you link your accounts, so I added that later.

The RDM version is the original? I've rewatched most of it on antenna TV in the last year.
No. https://en.battlestarwikiclone.org/wiki/Portal:Battlestar_Galactica_(TOS) TOS was the version w/Lorne Greene as Adama, Richard Hatch as Apollo, etc. It lasted a whopping one season and there was a movie/pilot movie (longer story behind that). There was a followup horrible series called Galactica 1980.

RDM (https://en.battlestarwikiclone.org/wiki/Portal:Battlestar_Galactica_(RDM)) refers to Ronald D. Moore (who had worked on Star Trek TNG) and his re-imagined version w/plenty of gender changes (e.g. Boomer, Starbuck and Commander Cain). Richard Hatch came back as https://en.battlestarwikiclone.org/wiki/Thomas_Zarek.

https://en.battlestarwikiclone.org/wiki/Cain_(TOS) vs https://en.battlestarwikiclone.org/wiki/Helena_Cain :)

BTW, TOS purists who hated "TNS" called it "GINO", Galactica In Name Only. RDM heard about this and named one of the Cylons "Gina", in reference to that. He referred to it in the podcasts until the name Gina finally came up in some episodes. I'm on at least one BSG TOS FB group and ANY posting or discussion of the RDM version is basically banned. And, if it's brought up, they almost all basically say the RDM version sucks, is an abomination, isn't Galactica, etc.

Peacock didn't have any of TOS when I checked last night.

My own feeling is that they overcompensated for the cheesiness of the the original version by remaking it as Supremely Dreary. I do, however, like the GINO episode title "Guess What's Coming to Dinner."

BTW, the Gina I was talking about became https://en.battlestarwikiclone.org/wiki/Gina_Inviere.

The RDM podcasts for BSG that I listened to usually had him usually lighting up something to smoke (you can hear him using a lighter) and having some adult beverage. Was kind of amusing as I'm sure he was recording them at home (e.g. you can hear background noise like dogs barking). They were basically almost like director's commentaries of a given ep, even though he usually wasn't the director.
