Don't laugh, I bet there are dishonest service writers at shady dealers who will try to sell a replacement one to some Leaf owner at some point.

OMFG that is hilarious and sad at the same time...

I've seen much of the same thing on eBay. When they have a universal part or a part that is considered universal across all of Nissan's products they'll just throw the Leaf in there too, not having any idea. Fortunately at this point in time most Leaf owners know their car well enough. But I could certainly see in the future people scamming drivers for oil changes and the like.

What do you weld it to?

On the hood, where the hood ornament goes. That way, when you're driving down the highway, it will whistle and everyone will know you're coming. :)

Ah, now I get it, so like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSOSJ68xOBA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I know this is a common problem on eBay, but jcwhitney.com? I thought they were better/more accurate than that.

One auto parts site offered me premium spark plugs for my Leaf. I took a screenshot of it but I'm on the wrong computer to share.

I bet the Leaf battery could make some impressive sparks with them.

QueenBee, this is so good I had to repost it on my blog Electricaching. I included the suggestion to weld it to the hood.

Close to a quarter-century ago, I managed to blow both the catalytic converter and the exhaust manifold on my 1978 510. I still keep pictures of the blown parts on my desk at work. The exhaust manifold has about a 2-inch hole in it, and the converter has its grids blown out. It slowly leaked pellets into the muffler over a period of years; even with a blown converter, it could easily pass a California smog check.

So many things I no longer have to deal with.
