New Pathfinder hybrid

Wed Jul 03, 2013 6:52 am

The new Pathfinder should have a bigger electric motor and batt one that will last on batt power for at least 20 miles. That way trips to drop off the kids and small trips to the store would be gas free.

You are never going to see a conventional hybrid with that kind of range or motor size. You are talking about a plug-in hybrid, like the Prius PiP or Volt, which the Pathfinder is not...

Perhaps the OP is talking about the Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid:

This article says it has a 12 kWh battery and can go up to 34 miles in pure EV mode.

Yes that is where the Nissan Pathfinder hybrid needs to be.

I think the OP is saying what he'd LIKE to see, not what is reality. I was a little deceived by the title as well, as if he were announcing a new product coming to market.

That being said, I'd like to see Nissan develop some plug-in hybrids. I'd like to see them do some electrification to the Rogue.
