For stuff that doesn't really fall under TSLA corporate outlook either...

Is crazy to learn of this new policy: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/new-factory-pick-up-policy-effective-oct-1.208590/.
I found out today that Tesla has a new mandatory "Express" option for pickups at the factory that went into effect October 1st. The delivery center will be completely unstaffed, exact quote: "There will be no one available to help with your delivery." In order for your vehicle to be moved into one of the pick-up slots, you must pre-pay on the website at least 24 hours in advance.

On the day of your delivery, you'll get a text sometime between 9am and 9pm telling you which parking spot your vehicle is in. When you get the text you accept delivery and proceed to the Factory. ("We require you to 'Accept Delivery' in your Tesla account after you have received your text notification"). By then the car is in your account, and you can use the app to unlock and drive away.

Unfortunately, this sort of piles onto my absolute nightmare of a delivery process: California waiting room Q3
I guess that's one way to reduce the # of staff needed/speed things up and add friction to reporting defects.

That guy also started https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/frunk-delivered-dented.208757/ to list his defects.

Tesla owner says he butt-dialed a $4,280 Autopilot upgrade — and is still waiting on a refund

My phone informed me yesterday that Tesla is getting rid of their PR department. Seriously. I guess that with the cars - or at least their glass roofs - flying off the lots they don't need PR...except maybe to explain why some model Ys are getting Unwanted Convertible Upgrades. (You know it's just a matter of time before they start charging people extra when that happens.)

I wonder if this is an example of an "over the air" update...

Massive Crash Recorded By TeslaCam Raises Multiple Safety Questions
https://insideevs.com/news/454383/massive-crash-teslacam-safety-questions/

Holy crap! The Civic got rear at on the highway at about 136 mph. It took place on highway 24 in/near Lafayette, CA. (You can search Google Maps for the road names in the video.) I wonder how long ago this crash happened and whether the criminal justice system will throw the book at the Tesla driver, if it hasn't already.

California gives Tesla ‘essential workforce’ exemption from new Covid-19 health orders
https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/20/tesla-gets-exemption-from-new-california-covid-19-health-orders.html
The California Department of Public Health says its new Covid-19 order -- the “Limited Stay at Home Order” -- does not apply to Tesla employees who are now deemed essential workers.
Previously, Tesla and CEO Elon Musk defied state and county health orders and kept their factory running when health orders said it should wind down to minimum basic operations.
Musk has clashed with and insulted California since the pandemic emerged, comparing California to a sports team that has been winning too long.

If the Tesla CCS1 adapter comes out for NA, I suspect they won't sell many more of the CHAdeMO adapters. Of course there's the Setec CCS1 adapter, but at $980 the price of that is ridiculous.

It sounds like many of the units are arriving as duds as well. Hope the return policy is good. There is the other issue that you risk your Tesla warranty with using the Setec adapter. I would wait for the Tesla one.

Pointer to back that statement up? (or is it just FUD).

But personally I also don't think I'll ever want/need a CCS adapter. 4 years ago I briefly considered borrowing a CHAdeMO adapter for a trip to Bar Harbor, ME, but the SuC expansion since then has made even that a thing of the past.

I stumbled across this in my FB feed.

I just picked this up Friday night at a good old fashion, barely in business Barnes & Noble. Interesting reading so far.

Seems sketch... Dodge Ram ranks higher then MB?

I wonder if there is any correlation between Dodge Ram owners and people who don't believe (fill-in-the-blank-here, the list is long these days....).
