EV Sales in Norway, 28 Days of March 2019

Thu Mar 28, 2019 10:39 am

Norway is fun to watch since it is head and shoulders ahead of the rest of the world in EV adoption. Nissan had a good year in 2018 in Norway with the LEAF but since Model 3 deliveries started from late February, Tesla has stolen the show. In an average month ~ 12k vehicles are registered monthly in Norway.

I saw this reported in today's Boston Globe with the tag line "In Norway, electric cars outsell traditional ones for the first time." No mention that the 3 the over 50% of what was sold.
LEAF '13 SL+Prem (mfg 12/13, leased 4/14, bought 5/17, sold 11/18) 34K mi, AHr 58, SOH 87%
Tesla S 75D (3/17)
Tesla X 100D (12/18)
97K 100% BEV miles since '14
ICE free since '18

The Tesla Model 3 was ~ 50% of the EV market and ~ 30% of all vehicles.

It is sweet irony that the Model 3 is the first true 'common man's car' (volkswagen)
