Nissan CVT vs Matic S

I did not notice until today that I added Nissan CVT (NS-2, it's green) instead of Matic S (red)to the reduction gear box. Do I need to change it or will the green X002P4TDV7/999MP-CVONS2 be fine? I live in Seattle.

I'd change it. Better safe than sorry and a CVT is a much different type of transmission than the gearbox in a Leaf.

I'll second that. There are other fluid types you could substitute (I used Valvoline ULV), but the one you used isn't one of them.

The Matic S is on order and will be here on Sunday. We are limiting the driving until then. Thank you for replying.

You can use Matic S compatible transmission fluid, I have used Valvoline ATF and Aisin transmission fluid, just look in the label for MATIC-S compatibility

Note that the Leaf transmission, like the ICE manual transmission, does not need regular fluid changes. It is not an automatic transmission. It does not shift and it does not slip.
